The sigma male is sometimes regarded as the new, improved, modern-day alpha male. Omegas are relegated to the bottom tier of the hierarchy. As far as their traits go, you can look at them as positive or negative. Many people think sigma males are socially avoidant and full of themselves.
Alphas are at the very top of the male socio-sexual hierarchy while sigmas don't have a fixed place within the hierarchy. Alphas tend to be more extroverted, traditional, and aggressive while sigmas usually keep to themselves, think outside of the box, and have a calm disposition.
If you see a man who is an introvert, a bit dominant, influential, and successful, you will know they are a sigma male. It is good that they can lead and are clear-headed, but they may not be okay with commitments. Well, it is their mysterious nature that often draws women towards them.
