Seasol Lawn Care is the perfect combination of seaweed and trace elements to revitalise your lawn and soil. It helps promotes healthy growth, enhances foliage colour and protects your lawn from heat and drought stress. Seasol Lawn Care is ideal to use after mowing.
Do not apply Seasol and PowerFeed during the heat of the day. As PowerFeed is a fertiliser it may burn the foliage of the plant or lawn. If fungal problems are an issue, it is best to apply Seasol and PowerFeed in the morning to avoid moisture residue on the foliage overnight.
After mowing apply Seasol hose-on to strengthen leaf blades to reduce stress from heat and drought. Apply it early morning so the grass has time to dry before the onset of a cool night. For more details check out our video “How to Care for Lawns – Mowing & maintenance”.

Add nitrogen and fertilizer
This method tends to be most effective for smaller areas of severely impacted grass. If you have a very large bare space, you might be better off reseeding. You can find a nitrogen fertilizer suitable for your sun-scorched grass at your local lawn care store.
Fertilizer burnt grass can grow back if untreated, but this is not likely the case. Most of the time, you will have to apply some extra water to the turf to ensure the burn goes away.
As fertiliser is primarily made up of mineral salts, excessive fertilising will cause salts to build up in the soil making it difficult for water to be absorbed, which dries out your grass causing discolouration and possibly even plant death if bad enough.
Apply Seasol regularly for several months before any fertilising is done. Once the tree is starting to respond to the Seasol treatment, apply an organic fertiliser such as Dynamic Lifter, blood and bone or slow-release tree tablets. Note: Sadly, some trees will be damaged beyond repair.

And although bone meal and blood meal sound similar and are both organic fertilizers, they differ in the nutrients they contribute to help plants grow. Blood meal is high in nitrogen while bone meal provides phosphorus and calcium.
There are three top nutrients grass needs to grow; potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus. Though all plants need these three key nutrients to thrive, grass requires higher concentrations for proper growth. Of all three, nitrogen is the most important as that is what gives grass its vivid color and tremendous growth.
By sprinkling blood and bone meal onto your garden soil, you create a fine layer of nutrients that can be worked in by worms, or rain, and will provide medium-term support for flowering plants right through spring, summer, and autumn.

As a general guide, pellets should last for around 6 to 8 weeks and the liquid form should be reapplied every two weeks.
When you apply too much fertilizer or spill some by accident, the salt buildup can cause fertilizer burn. So, you'll see brown, yellow or streaked grass. This happens more often with quick-release fertilizers, which flood lawns with nutrients all at once.
You should fertilize your lawn a day or so after a light rain or using a sprinkler. This prevents the application from being washed away. The moisture gets your soil damp and ready to receive nutrients. Do not apply fertilizer before or after heavy rains.
