Wanting to use it to revive his family and apologise for his selfishness in the past, Dumbledore lost his common sense, forget that it was a Horcrux which may have been cursed, and adorned it on his right hand. Almost immediately, the curse triggered, and nearly killed Dumbledore.
From HP wikia: "To protect his Horcrux, Tom Riddle placed the ring under a very powerful curse, so much so that Albus Dumbledore himself mentioned that had it not been for his prodigious skill, he might have died in mere moments of being cursed.
The foremost reason of why he had to die was his past obsession with deathly hallows. He carelessly touched Marvolo's ring , which resulted in hs being affected by Voldemort's curse. Snape clearly told him that it is a curse that will spread with time. So he only had a year to live.
During their teenage years, Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald made a blood pact where they swore an oath never to fight each other - presumably as a fail-safe to ensure no rift were to set them apart in their grand endeavour to ignite the revolution between the magical and the non-magical aggregations wherein ...
References to a gay relationship in “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” were edited out of the movie by Warner Bros. for the film's release in China. Only six seconds of the movie's 142-minute runtime were removed.
Albus was fascinated by Grindelwald's research on the Deathly Hallows and ideas of wizarding domination, and their friendship soon turned into a romantic relationship, in which Albus fell in love with Grindelwald.
When Voldemort returned to his hometown to murder his father and paternal grandparents, he took the ring and turned it into a Horcrux. Dumbledore eventually retrieved the ring and destroyed it with the sword of Godric Gryffindor.
In the first book of the series, "Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone," headmaster Albus Dumbledore gives Harry an invisibility cloak as a gift that belonged to Harry's father who passed away, James. If Voldemort got his hands on all 3, hed be unstoppable.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
The big “secret” about the Dumbeldore family that the title promises is actually an explanation of the last film's cliffhanger. Albus confirms to Creedence early on in the film that he is in fact a Dumbledore, quashing any rumor that Grindelwald had lied to the young boy in order to sway him to his movement.
Severus mentioned that he had restricted the curse in Dumbledore's hand. But the curse was supposed to keep on spreading and strengthening with time. Just severing the arm bearing the curse might not mean that Dumbledore would be out of danger as the curse could still linger on.

At different points, Dumbledore possessed all three Deathly Hallows. He won the Elder Wand from Grindelwald, had the Invisibility Cloak in his possession when James Potter died, and wore the Resurrection Stone as it sat in Marvolo Gaunt's ring. Dumbledore's powers are really quite extraordinary!
Additionally, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Professor Dumbledore looks right at Harry and Ron underneath the Invisibility Cloak while in Hagrid's hut, suggesting that Dumbledore might actually be able to see through the Invisibility Cloak.
