1.1 Exempt from Classification (E) 1.2 General (G) - Suitable for everyone. 1.3 Parental Guidance (PG) - Parental guidance is suggested for younger viewers. 1.4 Mature (M) - Not recommended for children under 15.
Titles rated E – Everyone have content that may be suitable for persons ages six and older. Titles in this category may contain minimal violence, some comic mischief and/or mild language.
Mature (M) - The content is moderate in impact. Mature Accompanied (MA 15+) - The content is strong in impact. Restricted (R 18+) - The content is high in impact. Check the Classification (CTC) - message for unclassified films.
Films and computer games classified M (Mature) contain content of a moderate impact. M-rated films and computer games are not recommended for children under the age of 15. They include portrayals of elements such as violence and themes that require a mature outlook.
Rated G: Suggested for general audiences. Rated M: Suggested for mature audiences - Parental discretion advised. Rated R: Restricted – Persons under 16 not admitted, unless accompanied by parent or adult guardian. Rated X: Persons under 16 not admitted.
The new ratings system began with four categories: G (general audiences), M (mature audiences, changed in 1969 to PG, parental guidance suggested), R (restricted, no children under 17 allowed without parents or adult guardians), and X (no one under 17 admitted).
Each of the designated ratings is defined as follows under the Motion Picture Classification and Rating program. G: GENERAL AUDIENCES. All ages admitted. PG: PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED. Some material may not be suitable for children.
R: Restricted, Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. This rating means the film contains adult material such as adult activity, harsh language, intense graphic violence, drug abuse and nudity.
M films are recommended for people aged 15 or older. A person needs to be 15 or older to see an MA 15+ film. The content is strong and unsuitable for people aged under 15. However people under 15 can see an MA 15+ film if accompanied by their parent or an adult guardian.
They basically don't exist, except for Pixar movies. Why did the MPAA allow this to happen? In truth, the American Motion Picture Association's rating system encourages movie to be more “adult.” American movies basically have two ratings, PG-13 and R, with PG used for children's movies.
General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older. Unaccompanied children of any age may watch, but parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger, or more sensitive, children.
'E is a low rating,' says Jeff Djevdet at Speed Property Buyers. 'A is the highest score you can achieve, which means an E-rated home is likely to be very poorly insulated, with an inefficient boiler with old-fashioned lighting,' he says.
If an extinguisher achieves a class E rating, it means the product can put out electrical based fires and material if they were to catch on fire. Within the test 35kV (35,000 volts) will be pulsated through a large steel plate, whilst an extinguisher is discharged aiming directly at the plate from one meter away.
For example, an “E” load range indicates that a tire is equivalent to a 10-ply construction tire. In realitly, this tire is not built with 10 plies, but rather one or two plies of equivalent strength.
General (G)
The G classification is suitable for everyone. G products may contain classifiable elements such as language and themes that are very mild in impact.
TV-Y7 - programs most appropriate for children age 7 and up. TV-Y7-FV - programming with fantasy violence that may be more intense or more combative than other programming in the TV-Y7 category. TV-G - programs suitable for all ages; these are not necessarily children's shows.
C: Unsuitable for persons under 18 years. C-rated material is restricted to persons aged 18 and older. However, it is advisory on TV and radio.
Movies. Older films with content pre-dating MPAA ratings are considered to be more PG in nature. Not submitted to MPAA to be rated. If an uncut version of a film was submitted to the MPAA, the labels Not Rated (NR) or Unrated (UR) are often used.

AMC Requires Adult Supervision For Guests Under 17 in R-Rated Movies. AMC policies specific to R-Rated titles include children under 6 are not allowed at R-Rated movies after 6pm at any theatre. Guests under 17 must be accompanied by a guardian who is 21 or older.

The NC-17 rating is the highest rating (even higher than the R-rating) that a film can be given, and it means the movie is for adults only (ages 18 and older) and no one age 17 or younger will be admitted.
