The gift of God's Grace is totally free, but it is not cheap. And here's really what I want you to hear from the bible. Today, God's gift of Grace is free, but it is also priceless.
John wrote: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We know that the greatest and most precious gift ever was the gift of the Atonement of Jesus Christ given by both the Father and the Son.
Wisdom is considered the first and the greatest of the gifts. It acts upon both the intellect and the will.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. 17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. While some Christans accept these as a definitive list of specific attributes, others understand them merely as examples of the Holy Spirit's work through the faithful.
Life is the greatest gift of all and deserves to be treasured. It should be savoured and cherished. If we don't stop ourselves regularly and take a step back to fully appreciate what it is and what we have life has a habit of passing by without you even realizing it.
The gifts that fall into this category are; the gift of special faith, gifts of healings, and the working of miracles.
In the history of salvation”, the Pontiff continued, God gave three gifts to his people: “the gift of election, the gift of promise and the gift of covenant”.
Giving is the ultimate gift of life – and you don't need money or special skills to do it. The best way to give to others is to be fully present. To give deeply of yourself, your time and attention. All of us know that His final command is that all the world is to believe and be baptized, or perish forever. And finally, we have all received the offer of His final gift: the Holy Spirit living inside of every single person who will receive Christ through faith, expressed in repentance and baptism.
The Gift of Eternal Life
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
These abilities, often termed "charismatic gifts", are the word of knowledge, increased faith, the gifts of healing, the gift of miracles, prophecy, the discernment of spirits, kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues.
1. If we consider only the Pleasure and Comfort of it to a Man in this Life, to be of a merciful and bountiful Eye, it is to him an unspeakable Gift. He is satisfied in Himself, God answers him in the Joy of his Heart. The greatest Pleasure of Life is to be good and do good.
The reason we call them the revelation gifts, is because each one of these gifts, reveal something. The gifts that fall into this category are; the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, and the discerning of spirits.
In today's world, when our society thinks of what to give someone on a special occasion, the first thing that comes to mind is probably something that one can touch and feel. However, when we break it down and think about it, the most valuable gift one can ever give somebody is the gift of time.
It's the most precious commodity
If you give someone your time, then you are giving them a gift that will last forever and ever. Giving someone your time is the most valuable thing that you can give them because it is something that they will cherish for a lifetime.
God gives people plants and seeds for farming as a gift in the first chapter of Genesis. Genesis tells us God created plants and their seeds, “each according to its kind,” called them good, and gave to humans to eat.
God's first gift leading us to Christ was the creation of man. If God had not created our first parents, there would have been no need for God to become man in order to save us.
Christianity teaches that God gave humans free will. This is the ability for humans to make their own decisions. It means that although God made a world and it was good , it is up to humans whether they choose to do good or bad deeds.
The three gifts had a spiritual meaning: gold as a symbol of kingship on earth, frankincense (an incense) as a symbol of deity, and myrrh (an embalming oil) as a symbol of death.
Everyone has certain talents or God-given gifts that they are skilled in. For example, some people are very hospitable and relatable and know how to make people feel comfortable. Some individuals are talented businesspeople, teachers, musicians or parents. These talents can be more than hobbies or even careers.
