Mother Gothel's original name was Madame Gothel.
Frau Gothel seems to want to protect Rapunzel from the evils and pains of the world; being a woman unattached to a man, she likely wants to keep Rapunzel similarly unattached.
Cassandra is a main character of the Tangled franchise, serving as the deuteragonist of Tangled: Before Ever After and the tritagonist of Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, as well as a former main antagonist of the third season. She is the biological daughter of the late Mother Gothel.

Gordon Gothel is a student at Ever After High, he's a roybel and wishes to kill Holly O'Hair and bring back his imprisoned mother, but in doing so he doesn't want to lose like his mother did, making him somewhat rebellious. He comes from the Fairytale Rapunzel and is the son of Mother Gothel.
Overview… an evil witch who uses the rejuvenating powers of a magic flower to stay young forever. When that flower is co-opted by the royal family, Mother Gothel kidnaps the young princess, Rapunzel, and raises her as her own daughter. Mother Gothel is careful not to let Rapunzel out of the tower where she lives.
The real name of Mother Gothel is Madame Gothel. In most of her appearances, she is selfish, manipulative, and vain. She portrays some nurturing, motherly qualities; however, they are usually pretenses to control Rapunzel.
It seems that it's not a proper name, but a dialect word meaning "godmother". (My mother tongue is German, but I never heard this word form, only the form "Gotte". Maybe "Gothel" fell out of use a long time ago, or is in use only in some regional dialects.)
On November 24, 2010, the day of the film's release, directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard disputed reports that the title change was a marketing decision. They said they changed the title from Rapunzel to Tangled because Rapunzel is not the only main character in the film.
Video. "Healing Incantation" is a song sung by Rapunzel throughout the film to activate her powers of reversing damages, including complete regeneration of damaged tissues and organs as well as an aging reversal to a certain degree. Mother Gothel learned the incantation from Zhan Tiri and later taught it to Rapunzel.
Her long hair is what Gothel wants — Gothel doesn't give a crap about the girl, just the hair. So Flynn cuts her hair — even at the cost of risking his own life — because he knows it is the only way to free her, and he wants to make certain she is free before he dies. Because he loves her — more than his own life.
Cher - Mother Gothel
According to one of Tangled's creators Byron Howard, Gothel is loosely based on Cher's appearance, as she appears “exotic and gothic-looking”, to give Gothel that dark vibe to contrast with Rapunzel's brightness.
Holly O'Hair is the younger twin sister of Poppy O'Hair. She was introduced in 2013-introduced along with her sister and is a well-rounded character. She is the daughter of Rapunzel from the fairy tale "Rapunzel". She is a student at Ever After High, and is a Royal, unlike her sister Poppy, who's a Rebel.
Holly O'Hair (voiced by Colleen Foy) – The daughter of Rapunzel and the twin sister of Poppy O'Hair. She has long strawberry-blonde hair, that can act as a strong rope, even when it is cut. Her doll has a metallic outfit, high heels, and a crown made of holly flowers.

In the TV series, Rapunzel's magic hair grows back to the length and color it was in the film. It grows back when Rapunzel and her handmaid, Cassandra, discover some mystical rocks with magical properties during a secret adventure. In the series, her new hair is revealed to be indestructible and cannot be cut.
This couple from Tangled are thought to have an eight-year age gap, with Rapunzel being 18 and Flynn being 26.
When she turns twelve, the sorceress locks her up in a tower in the middle of the woods, with neither stairs nor a door, and only one room and one window. In order to visit her, the sorceress stands at the bottom of the tower and calls out: Rapunzel!

Cassandra eventually finally realized and saw that Gothel was a selfish and vain person who only cared about herself, never loved Cassandra or Rapunzel and abandoned her for the sun drop.
