There are six recognized types of emotional abuse, including: Rejecting – Communicating to a child through words and conduct that he or she is unwanted and/or worthless. Also, constant belittling, shaming, humiliating, yelling, threatening, bullying, ignoring, rejecting, and limiting physical contact such as hugs and kisses can severely damage a child's mental health or social development.

Children react to angry, stressed parents by not being able to concentrate, finding it hard to play with other children, becoming quiet and fearful or rude and aggressive, or developing sleeping problems.
Emotional Symptoms of Psychological Trauma
Irritability, sadness, mood swings, feelings of helplessness, guilt, shame, and self-blame are also common.
Emotional dysregulation, explosive shows of anger, and disappointment are harmful to adult children. Toxic parents are selfish. Parents who think more about what benefits them and not their children are toxic. These parents are not thinking of the benefits to their adult children and what is important to them.
For some parents, infancy is the hardest. For others, it's toddlerhood. Some parents feel that the preschool years present special challenges.
Experts agree that neglectful parenting is a negative parenting style.
The main thing you can do is apply The Golden Rule of Parenting. Always be the kind of person you want your kids to be. So, if you want your kids to be respectful, considerate, and honest, you have to be respectful, considerate, and honest. And, then you may expect that behavior from your kids.
Lazy parenting includes being uninterested in spending time and energy with kids, giving kids devices to shut them up, not being willing to listen to kids because they are too lazy to deal with uncomfortable feelings and tantrums, etc.
Emotionally absent or cold mothers can be unresponsive to their children's needs. They may act distracted and uninterested during interactions, or they could actively reject any attempts of the child to get close. They may continue acting this way with adult children.
Children can be quite forgiving. It's time we learn from them and forgive ourselves for the yelling as the first step in doing it less.
