Faith Comes By Hearing the Word of God—Romans 10:17. We all have faith in something, but what our faith is in depends on what or who we're listening to. If we listen to the world then chances are we have faith in the world's system. We will let it dictate our thoughts, our actions and even our bodies.
Faith does not come from us but it is the grace of God that He has given us faith so that we will be able to place our faith in Jesus, our salvation. Also, as God placed faith in us, we have to also learn how God and through what way He was able to plant faith inside us and how He increases it.
Salvation is not difficult because Christ Jesus took the entire burden on Himself. Your part is to simply believe, and, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” You confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord as a result of truly believing in your heart.
Romans 10:17 NLT
“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Romans 10 teaches the word of faith. By confessing with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and by believing this in our hearts, we are saved—nothing more, nothing less. Christ is the end of the law so we can be justified and made righteous by faith in Jesus alone.
A person must confess verbally that Jesus is Lord, submitting thus to His authority in repentance from sin. He must also believe in his heart that He died for sin and was raised from the dead. The profession and inward belief according to the Word of God is what saves a person.
The righteousness of God comes only through faith in Christ. Faith in Christ constitutes faith in God's Word and Person. His Word and Person are put to action in the availing life, atonement, resurrection, and ascension of the Son of God. The righteousness of God comes only through faith in Christ.
He says, “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.” So, the message about Jesus, the Word of God, the gospel, is what should be heard and if that is heard and believed, the result is faith.
Casting your anxiety on God means trusting him for handling this specific situation. If you believe that he cares (which is what the promise says), and believe that he is God, then your fears will be lifted. The Connection with Prayer.
In that verse, the prophet asks the Lord, "Who has believed what he has heard from us?" Paul is showing that Israel's tendency to disobey, specifically by refusing to believe, goes all the way back to the days of the prophets.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). This verse contains the central theme for the entire book of Romans. It is the signature text for this epistle that has been called the most important book in the Bible.
As Romans will make abundantly clear, people cannot be declared righteous before God by following the law. Good works and ritual obedience do nothing to make us right with God. And if we are not declared righteous in God's eyes—a condition referred to as being "justified"—then we cannot be with God.
What self-denial does mean is that while we can have the desires of our heart, we are to deny our own way of achieving them and trust the Lord to do it His way (Proverbs 16:7, Isaiah 55:8) Denying ourselves also means turning away from the ways of the “old self” and continually putting on our new self in Christ ( ...
So Romans 10:14-15 and 17 simply tell us the process by which the Gospel is spread, not who might or might not be saved. As other Scripture verses tell us, faith is the exclusive domain of the Holy Spirit's work of regeneration in the heart of the sinner.
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Commentary on Romans 10:12-17
The promise is the same to all, who call on the name of the Lord Jesus as the Son of God, as God manifest in the flesh. All believers thus call upon the Lord Jesus, and none else will do so humbly or sincerely.
It shows how to become right with God because you trust him. It says: 'Do not say to yourself, “Someone will have to go up into heaven .” ' (That means: 'Someone will have to bring Christ down from up there.
God's righteousness must come by grace, not works, and as long as people look to what they do, they fail to accept the gift of righteousness the gospel reveals. So Paul concludes: “For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes” (verse 4).
The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

In Romans 10:13, he quotes from Joel 2:32: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” This verse means that the gospel of faith is open to all, but there must be a proper response, which is to call on the name of the Lord.
