3. “Woman, behold, your son. … Behold, your mother.” (John 19:26–27)
The Word of God says, “And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews. This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
3. Woman, Behold Your Son (John 19:26-27) - Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross.
' Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever.
The fifth word, I thirst, is the only time that Jesus speaks of his physical suffering and pain. It is a reminder that the Passion is not only a spiritual reality, a cosmic happening. It is a bodily act, the crucifixion of a man's body. He suffers, he falls, he bleeds, he thirsts.
To God: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” To the “good thief”: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” To Mary, his mother: “Woman, behold your son”... and to John: “Behold your mother.” To God, his Father: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
One first word from Jesus, “Father, forgive them for they no not what they do.” And three words from us. O God, forgive them.

Jesus is sometimes referred to as Jesus Christ, and some people assume that Christ is Jesus' last name. But Christ is actually a title, not a last name. So if Christ isn't a last name, what was Jesus' last name? The answer is Jesus didn't have a formal last name or surname like we do today.
I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to his lips. When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
3rd Word From the Cross: 'Behold Your Son; Behold Your Mother'| National Catholic Register.
Death on a cross (hoisted up on a pole) is the way Jesus died for us. He suffered tremendous physical pain, but, even more, he died under the curse of God. He was sinless, but he became cursed for us. He carried all our sins and was judged for them.
Aramaic is best known as the language Jesus spoke. It is a Semitic language originating in the middle Euphrates. In 800-600 BC it spread from there to Syria and Mesopotamia. The oldest preserved inscriptions are from this period and written in Old Aramaic.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” These are the final recorded words of Jesus before He ascended into Heaven – the very last thing He said to His disciples.
Jesus, therefore, seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing by, said to his mother: iWoman, behold thy son.; Then, he said to the disciple iBehold thy mother.; And from that hour the disciple took her to his own (home).
Haydn wrote The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross in 1786 in response to a commission from the bishop of Spain's Cadiz Cathedral. The bishop requested music to accompany the cathedral's Good Friday service that year.
Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever. The crucified him, one on the right and one on the left. The theme for our Seven Last Words meditation is: In your house I shall celebrate the Passover (Matthew 26:18).
Jesus' last words to the disciples were recorded in Matt. 28:19-20: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever. The first word from the Cross is puzzling. Forgiveness is not puzzling, because we know that Jesus has come for the forgiveness of sins.
