Fergus is 17 years older than Ian and 15 years older than Marsali.
He is a 30-year-old handsome, savvy, charming man, still completely devoted to Milord and Jamie's most trusted man. He has a dangerous edge as well when needed and works with Jamie in his smuggling enterprise. We see this adult version of Fergus at the same time a newly returned Claire does. He can't believe his eyes.
Newcomer Lauren Lyle has been cast as Marsali, Laoghaire's (Nell Hudson) 18-year-old daughter. Per Starz, “Marsali has a rebellious and romantic mind of her own. She knows what she wants and she goes after it — reputation and propriety be damned.”
Marsali is 15 and Fergus is 30 when they get married.
In early 1779, pregnant Marsali, Fergus and their daughters Joan and Félicité settle in Wilmington. Their eldest son, Germain, returns to Fraser's Ridge with his grandparents, Jamie and Claire, as Fergus and Marsali think that it is dangerous for a boy Germain's age to live in a large city in time of war.
She is a bit older. The book version of Marsali is only 15 when she boards the Artemis with Fergus (age 30) in Voyager. For modern sensibilities, they aged Marsali to 18 on the show.
French businessman and merchant The Comte St. Germain (Stanley Weber) is revealed to be Fergus' father. Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) encountered the Comte in season two when she and Jamie travelled to Paris to try and quash the Jacobite Rebellion and avert the tragic Battle of Culloden.
For now, though, it appears both Fergus and Marsali aren't time travellers with actors Lyle and Domboy addressing this in an Instagram live Q&A from earlier this year.
Jamie also has two stepdaughters, Marsali MacKimmie Fraser and Joan MacKimmie, from his marriage to his second wife, Laoghaire MacKenzie.
Henri-Christian is born as the fourth child of Fergus and Marsali. He is a dwarf and some of the residents of Fraser's Ridge believe he is a punishment for his parents' sins.
Claire Fraser was born on October 20, 1918.
That would make her 27-and-a-half at the time she and Jamie meet in the books, while Jamie's barely 22. This would make Claire five and a half years older than Jamie. This content is imported from twitter.
Marsali however took to each trial courageously and saw a future away from Fraser's Ridge. In the fifth episode, she decided it was best to move her family to New Bern for a fresh start and to keep Fergus far from its negativity.
Jamie denies having slept with her, but the damage to his and to Claire's reputation is done—and the bond between the Frasers and Malva is severed, until just a few weeks later, when Claire finds Malva murdered in the garden. “It's like the peak of the tragedy, and it's so visceral.
We do get to see a conversation between the two of them play out, with Marsali explaining that Fergus is being rough at times and leaves marks but that he isn't abusive.
Fergus Fraser, formerly known as Claudel, is a French emigrant to the American colonies via Scotland. Born in Paris, he grew up in a brothel, not knowing who his true parents were or if they still lived.
Fergus or Feargus is a common Scottish or Irish male given name derived from Scots Gaelic, meaning the strong (one) or the masculine (one).
How old is Marsali Fraser in Outlander? Marsali was born in 1751 and in the third novel Voyager, she is 15 years old with Jamie and her mother Laoghaire tying the knot the year before in 1765. In comparison, her husband Fergus is double her age at 30 years old with Jamie unsure about the union between them.
In the TV show, it's pretty clear that Fergus and Marsali don't know that Claire is a time traveler. At least, by Outlander Season 5, Marsali doesn't know.
The killer is in fact Malva's brother, Allan Christie (Alexander Vlahos). He is also the father of her baby, having raped and abused Malva since she was a child. Malva had decided to tell the truth, which is why Allan killed her.
Sadly, the long ginger curls of Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) are not real. Heughan wears mostly extensions and wigs to become Jamie Fraser in the series. Throughout the show's six-year history, Jamie has been seen with his hair curled, plaited and even had a fringe in season four.
Fergus was originally called Claudel with the pickpocket sleeping in a cupboard under the stairs at the brothel. Jamie renamed him 'Fergus' because he felt it was a more masculine moniker for the youngster. However, it was also a Scottish name with Fergus retaining Claudel as his middle name.
Fergus spent his childhood in France, and then, lived in Scotland until he was an adult. Although he became one of the Fraser clan, he still maintained his French behavior.
As a time traveler, he has lived during the 1630s and possibly other eras. He first attempts to travel forward beyond his own projected lifetime in 1778, with the help of Master Raymond.
The mysterious Master Raymond is a "prehistoric time traveler." Not much is known about him, but he is thought to be a common ancestor of both Claire Fraser and Geillis Duncan.
Well, Fergus is believed to be the son of the comte and Amelie Beauchamp.
