Dab pens (aka wax pens) are the same thing and can be used interchangeably. There are no differences between the two. Vape pens are different even though people think they are the same. Whether you want to call it a dab pen or a wax pen is your choice.
The wax pen's strength is similar to the strength offered by a dab pen; therefore, wax pens are often referred to as dab pens. Instead of being designed for use with pre-filled cartridges, wax pens allow users to vaporize the concentrate of their choice with a dab tool.
Dab pens use more powerful batteries than vape pens, which need to reach much higher temperatures to vaporize the concentrate. Dab pens require frequent cleaning because the dab can leave residue after a session. Dab pens generally deliver a far more potent hit than a vape pen.
If you're comfortable with using a variety of consumption methods and enjoy experimenting, you may find that doing a little dab is to your liking. It's generally a smoother inhale than smoking flower or vaping.
So, if you're dabbing with first-timers stress that point, and really drive that difference home. Bottom line: Never, ever touch a hot nail or coil. Be cautious with open flames, and always remove the carb cap right after use because heat can transfer from the banger and burn whoever is next in the rotation.
Mental Dab Drug Side Effects
Many users report feeling extreme anxiety and paranoia. In some cases, this can also lead to hallucinations, psychosis, or panic attacks. It's no exaggeration to say that dabs can result in a “bad trip” like stronger substances like LSD. Another common mental effect is poor memory.
There are many types of dabbing extract, but crystalline is the most potent variety of all. This is extremely pure cannabinoid crystals, often sold as a single chunk, which can then be broken down.
Of course there are many factors to consider, but when it comes to determining which is best for getting high, bong hits are generally milder than dab hits. One obvious reason for the super strength of dab hits is that marijuana concentrates are already more potent than the marijuana flower that you'd use in a bong.
DIAMOND DABS
We've saved the best option for last folks because you can't have a conversation about the best dabs without talking about diamonds. Diamonds are the purest and most potent form of wax and are synonymous with pristine quality in smoking.
For those of you who don't know, a blinker is when you take a hit with a vape pen for the longest amount of time that the battery will allow. That usually takes about 8-10 seconds and it's actually an auto/off feature that keeps the battery from overheating and breaking.
To add wax to a dab pen, open up the mouthpiece and scoop up your wax with a metal dabber tool. Place the wax into the chamber and onto the heating coil carefully. Put the mouthpiece back onto the pen, and press the button to heat up and inhale.
Stability. One big way that shatter differs from wax is its stability. The molecules in shatter are tightly stacked and bonded, so what you end up with is a more durable concentrate that doesn't break down so easily. For this reason, shatter is going to have a longer shelf life than wax.
The best known benefit of waxing is that the hair doesn't grow back very quickly. Waxing removes the hairs from the root. With shaving, the hairs are cut off close to skin level. Even with a very close shave, this still leaves a considerable amount of the hair just below the surface ready to appear in a day or two.
Dabs are a type of marijuana concentrate which has extremely high THC potency. Dabs are also known as concentrated Butane Hash Oil (BHO). Manufacturers often use butane and carbon dioxide to extract these concentrates. That is precisely why their texture tends to be sticky and gooey.
Dab hits will get you significantly higher than bong hits because dabs are concentrates whereas bong hits are from smoking dry flower. Concentrates are, simply put, the most potent parts of the cannabis plant, whereas flower retains the properties that will not get you high.
Dab Your Concentrate
Touch your small (very small) piece of concentrate against the nail and inhale very, very slowly. Don't go too fast because the size of the rig affects how much the vapor cools before it hits your lungs. You don't want to inhale the vapor while it's too hot because you could hurt your lungs.
Heat your banger with a torch until it starts to glow red-hot. Start your countdown immediately after removing the flame from your rig. 40 seconds is the right count for most bangers.
Higher Temperature = More Extraction of Oils
So to me, the easiest way to tell if you're done vaporizing is if you hit the max temperature on your vaporizer (or 235C) and you're not getting any more visible vapor. If you can't see or feel any vapor, there isn't any left to come out.
Half a Rice Grain, or Smaller
It sounds small, but just wait until you try it. If your metabolism is such that half a grain is a gentle experience, start slowly increasing the amount, stopping at about 1.5 rice grains in size per dab.
Respiratory illness - The chemicals used in THC extraction, combined with the extreme heat levels needed to produce the vapors, can cause lung injury and other respiratory diseases. It is common for people who dab to experience a wheezing cough.
People who smoke joints tend to sneeze a lot, which is why the dabbing motion looks like someone sneezing into the crook of their elbow. Because it is! The term “dabbing” itself was a reference to the act of smoking and extracting marijuana concentrates.
Cannabis concentrates, as the name suggests, are more concentrated and potent than other options. When you dab cannabis concentrates, you're exposing yourself to more cannabinoids and terpenes than when you're smoking a joint, for example. As a result, you'll feel a stronger effect with a smaller amount of product.
