How to Pray Fajr – 2
It is interesting to note that the names of the ritual prayers are related to the times of the day that they are prescribed within, which are: Fajr or Subuh (dawn), Zuhr (afternoon), ʽAsr (late afternoon), Maghrib (just after sunset) and Isha (night).
As an Islamic day starts at sunset, the Maghrib prayer is technically the first prayer of the day. If counted from midnight, it is the fourth prayer of the day.
Initially, 50 daily prayers were commanded, which were subsequently reduced to five on the advice of Prophet Moses to the Holy Apostle. Therefore, Muslims pray five times a day to fulfill the obligation bestowed upon them by the command of Allah through His Holy Messenger.
Praying, or salat. Muslims are supposed to pray five times a day – at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and evening. The shahadah is repeated at each call to prayer and closes each prayer, as well.
BACKGROUND: Muslims are required to wake up early to pray (Fajr) at dawn (approximately one and one-half hours before sunrise). Some Muslims wake up to pray Fajr and then sleep until it is time to work (split sleep), whereas others sleep continuously (consolidated sleep) until work time and pray Fajr upon awakening.
The Fajr prayer (Arabic: صلاة الفجر ṣalāt al-fajr, "dawn prayer") is one of the five mandatory salah (Islamic prayer), to be performed anytime starting from the moment of dawn, but not after sunrise.
Prayer times are determined by the position of the sun in the sky. The Muslim day begins with the sunset prayer, Mahgrib, followed by the evening prayer, Isha, which begins at nightfall. The last of the prayers to be regulated by the occurrence of twilight is the Fajr, beginning at daybreak.
Immediately upon completing the prayer it is recommended for the worshipper to invoke Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) and to ask for His forgiveness by saying: "ASTAGHFIRULLAAH" three times, which means: I seek Allah's forgiveness.
Muslims pray during the following times: Salat al-fajr: the dawn or any time before sunrise. Salat al-zuhr: midday, after the sun passes its highest. Salat al-'asr: the late part of the afternoon.
The Five Times of Prayer are not explicitly written in the Quran, although they're certainly implied. Quran verses about prayer times could be interpreted from the below examples: The Surah 11 Hud, Ayat 114-114 reads, "And establish the Prayer at the two ends of the day and in the first hours of the night.
The prayer itself can be done in as little as five minutes, and can be performed solo or with a group. It involves rakats — a sequence of movements and postures such as standing, bowing, kneeling and touching the ground with the forehead while reciting specific verses from the Quran.
The qibla is the direction Muslims face when praying toward the Ka'ba in Mecca. The qibla wall is the wall in a mosque that faces Mecca.
The Isha'a or isha prayer starts when the red light is gone from the western sky, and lasts until the rise of the "white light" (fajr sadiq) in the east. The preferred time for Isha is before midnight, meaning halfway between sunset and sunrise.
So, how long after sunrise can I pray fajr? You can pray Fajr until the time of sunrise (until Fajr prayer ends). Once the praying time of Fajr is over you should wait 15 minutes before you pray. That's what our prophet instructed us to do.
'of the dawn', 'pre-dawn meal'), also called Sahari, Sahrī, or Sehri (Persian: سحری) is the meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting (sawm), before dawn during or outside the Islamic month of Ramadan. The meal is eaten before fajr prayer.
Sleep on time. Getting an adequate amount of sleep means you will not be fatigued, rather you will be energised when standing in front of Allah. Avoid fried foods, excessive dairy and caffeinated drinks, which add the struggle of waking up. Avoid using your phone before bed.
Unlike many other forms of livestock, pigs are omnivorous scavengers, eating virtually anything they come across, including carrion and refuse, which was deemed unclean. Furthermore, a Middle Eastern society keeping large stocks of pigs could destroy their ecosystem.
