According to recent studies, your brain learns and expresses fear at a certain brainwave frequency, and changing the frequency can change the feeling. Researchers found that the brainwave frequency of fear is four cycles per second, or 4 hertz.
The two test an urban legend that claims that there is frequency around 19 Hz that can produce feelings of discomfort, dread and, yes, even fear. But the thing is, 19 Hz is below the threshold of human hearing, so these feelings are produced without anyone being able to hear the note.
Four Types of Brainwaves

Now, 19Hz is the resonant frequency of the eyeball. Sound of sufficient amplitude deforms the eyeball very slightly and pushes on the retina, activating the rods and cones by pressure rather than by light and causing these visual distortions.
The most important sounds we hear every day are in the 250 to 6,000 Hz range. Normal speech changes in volume at a low rate – about 4 to 5 Hertz or cycles per second. Screams, however, change in volume very quickly and very widely -- from 30 Hz up to 150 Hz.

For a person with normal hearing, when it comes to pitch the human hearing range starts low at about 20 Hz. That's about the same as the lowest pedal on a pipe organ. On the other side of the human hearing range, the highest possible frequency heard without discomfort is 20,000Hz.
