According to Puranic sources, Kali Yuga started on 17/18 February 3102 BCE. Lasting for 432,000 years (1,200 divine years), Kali Yuga began 5,124 years ago and has 426,876 years left as of 2023 CE.
Satya Yuga is known as the age of truth, when humanity is governed by gods, and every manifestation or work is close to the purest ideal and humanity will allow intrinsic goodness to rule supreme. It is sometimes referred to as the "Golden Age".
The current era is called Kali Yuga. According to tradition, this era began with the death of Krishna, about 5,000 years ago. According to the ancient sages of India, Kali Yuga will last for 4,32,000 years.
In this age people are short-living. Their duration of life is very, very short, so much so that at the end of this age the duration of life will come down to twenty years to thirty years. A man of twenty-five years will be considered as very old man. These are stated in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.

After Kali Yuga, the yuga cycle begins again with Satya Yuga, the golden age. The transition takes place with the assistance of the Kalki Avatara, who rids the Earth of the hordes of beast-like human beings who have lost all sense of their humanness.

Kaliyug start and end date
The Kali Yuga shall last for 432000 years. It is said that the Kaliyug started sometime in 3102 BCE. We are currently at the 5,121st year of the last yuga, and 426,879 years are still remaining. As per the present day calculation, Kali Yuga shall come to an end in 428,899 CE.
Vamana, Parashurama, and Rama are believed to have lived during the Treta Yuga.
