The Kangal has a mighty bite, with a
#1 Kangal. With an almost unbelievable bite force of 734 psi, the Kangal doubtless has the strongest jaws in the world. Bred in Turkey to bring down larger animals preying on sheep and other livestock, these pups are masters at neutralizing danger!
Cane Corso: This mastiff breed has a bite force measuring a staggering 700 psi, which beats the bite force of a lion. This breed has been used as a war dog and is a hardy breed that does not need much maintenance.
The dhole is a wild dog native to Asia. It might be hard to see how dholes can take down a tiger. But they work as a pack; if they find an injured female tiger or her cubs, they can outnumber her during an attack. Dholes are wild dogs that occur in Asia.
Adult gray wolves have an impressive set of teeth, and their jaws are incred- ibly strong. A human's bite force is only about 120 pounds per square inch, and a large domestic dog's is about 320 pounds per square inch—but the bite force of a wolf is almost 400 pounds of pressure per square inch!
And the strongest known bite force of the entire animal kingdom is…. The Crocodile -- specifically, the Saltwater Crocodile (the highest recorded “live” bite of 3700 PSI) and the Nile Crocodile (estimated 4000-5000 PSI)!
Dogs have larger and stronger mouths, and can bite repeatedly and more aggressively in some attacks. Deaths attributed directly to pet bites pretty much exclusively involve dogs. Cat bites are smaller and have less chance of causing significant injury to tissues, but they may be more severe in the long run.
Australian Shepherds are great herding dogs. The Australian Shepherd has a bite force of 235psi.
Mastiff. One of the oldest breeds of dog, Mastiffs have been used as guardians, hunters and war dogs. “Mastiffs are heavy boned with a powerful neck and firm back,” says DiNardo.
Pit Bull Terriers
Probably the most notorious breed on this list, the pit bull has a reputation for unpredictability and aggression, even against its owner or his family.
Pit bulls, rottweilers, dobermans are all considered aggressive dogs, while labs and corgis are supposed to be fun and docile. But while breeding might have something to do with temperament, a recent study suggests that a far better predictor of how aggressive a dog will be is what their owner is like.
Pitbulls came in at number one for the breed responsible for the most dog bites, at 10.3 per cent. They're believed to have a predisposition to violent behaviour, thanks to their history of being used as fighting dogs.
The anteater, on the other hand, is one mammal with virtually no bite force. In fact, it can barely move its jaws at all! Anteaters collect ants and other foods by extending a long tongue and drawing it back into their mouths.
According to research, pitbulls have a bite force of around 235 pounds per square inch (PSI). This is lower than some other dog breeds, such as the Rottweiler and the German Shepherd, which have bite forces of around 328 PSI and 238 PSI, respectively.
What is the bite force of a human? Compared with other mammals (like dogs and bears), humans don't have the strongest bite. Scientists measure the amount of pressure exerted by an animal's bite in pounds per square inch (psi). The human bite force is 162 psi.
Tiger vs Wolf: Offensive Capabilities
Wolves have a strong bites and 2-inch teeth. They have sharp but short claws. All told, the tiger gets the offensive advantage.
Wolf Bite vs Dog Bite
The Kangle is the breed with the strongest bite force at 743 psi, which is the strongest of all dogs. The Wolf has one of the strongest bite forces when compared with most dogs but some breeds that are larger are able to produce much more force than a wolf.
As the National Wildlife story points out, the most powerful bite among living animals belongs to the Tasmanian devil (for more information on this possibly vanishing marsupial, see “Tasmania's Devil of a Problem,” June/July 2008), a 20-pound predator and scavenger armed with jaws that can exert a force of 94 pounds— ...
