He who is abhorred by the LORD will fall there. a. The mouth of an immoral woman is a deep pit: The immoral woman often sets her seductive trap by the words she speaks. Therefore, her mouth is a trap leading to death.
1A good name is to be chosen over great wealth; favor is better than silver and gold. 2Rich and poor have this in common: the Lord makes them all. 3A sensible person sees danger and takes cover, but the inexperienced keep going and are punished. 4Humility, the fear of the Lord, results in wealth, honor, and life.
Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: He that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
“For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” In other words, the wisdom we need does not rise up from within us; it comes down from the wise God above as we seek him out. God offers his wisdom from his book for his people. Proverbs 3:13-18 takes us further in to God's wisdom.
Wisdom refers to insight into doctrinal truth. Paul exercised and expressed this gift in this letter (e.g., 2:6). (2) Knowledge refers to the ability to apply doctrinal truth to life. Paul also exercised and expressed this gift in this letter (e.g., 12:1-3; 11:3).
Wisdom is the quality of having a good judgement based on knowledge. It is popularly known as the ability to discern. If knowledge is power, wisdom is your choice to use or apply that power. Understanding is the ability to understand one's knowledge and choices. It is the realization of your decision.
From Proverbs 2:10–15; Proverbs 3:13–18, 35; Proverbs 4:5–9, we can identify the following principle: Gaining wisdom and living righteously lead to happiness and peace. Read Proverbs 4:14–15, looking for another action we must take to be blessed with happiness and peace.
Reproof is reprimands and warnings against wrong conduct. The rod is for physical punishment, to reinforce the verbal reproof. As a child grows, foolishness is visible in its heart (Pr 22:15). But the rod of correction will drive folly away – it will teach the child wisdom (Pr 22:6,15; 29:17).
So, what does it mean that the mouth speaks what the heart is full of? It means that the words we use are very important. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21a).
Proverbs 22:6 should not be understood as a promise that Christian children will make good decisions their entire life. No, it should be understood as a warning. If parents don't discipline their children in a wise way, then their kids are going to make foolish choices and continue to do so when they grow up.
Abba Father, God of Righteousness, Peace and Love, we humble ourselves before you, prostrate and penitent, for all wisdom, all knowledge, all virtues, come from you, Who are the inexhaustible source of all Holiness.
Therefore, the chief aim of the book of Proverbs is to bring divine truth into proper focus, enabling us to look at life through God's eyes—from His eternal, all-knowing point of view—and then live accordingly. Proverbs teaches us how to gain wisdom from God's reproofs so that, in the power of the Spirit, we will obey.
For the lips of an immoral woman are as sweet as honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil.

Adultery (from Latin adulterium; ad- + alterō, “I change/alter [one lineage for another”]) is extra-marital sex partaken by a spouse, or premarital sex partaken by a betrothed person, that is considered objectionable on social, religious, moral, or legal grounds.
The symbol represents the concern and compassion that a shepherd has for his sheep. The rod conveys the concept of authority, power, discipline and defense of the sheep. The staff represents all that is long suffering and kind. A staff is a long, slender stick, often with a crook or hook on one end.
“Rebuke a wise man” brings a totally opposite response – he will appreciate your efforts (“love you”). “Instruct” or offer him discipline and he will get even wiser. Verse 9: Teach a “righteous man” and he will benefit from it.
The Lord means for us to guard our hearts by filtering our emotions, desires, thoughts, and responses through his Word. He is the watchman that protects our souls. And what's his primary means of defense? The sword of Scripture.
It is maintained that human wisdom is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic in orientation. In contrast, divine wisdom is Bible-based, Christ- centered, and Spirit-led. It seeks to glorify the Lord, not oneself, by focusing on the eternal sagacity of Jesus' atoning sacrifice.
To live righteously is to conduct one's life in an upright manner and with moral standards that reflect our relationship with the lord. As representative to the kingdom of God in all that we do, we should mirror his ways.
“He shall never permit the righteous to be moved” means God will not allow his children to be hurt.
Knowledge comes first. If you know nothing you have no basis to develop wisdom. Wisdom means the ability to take that knowledge to make wise decisions.
In Christianity, the word of wisdom is a spiritual gift listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8. The function that this gift is given varies. Some Christians see in this gift a prophetic-like function. Others see in the word of wisdom a teaching function.
Knowledge is information of which someone is aware. Knowledge is also used to mean the confident understanding of a subject, potentially with the ability to use it for a specific purpose. Wisdom is the ability to make correct judgments and decisions. It is an intangible quality gained through our experiences in life.
