The three curses that are classified as Unforgivable are the Imperius Curse, the Cruciatus Curse, and the Killing Curse. Mad-Eye Moody introduces Harry and his class to these curses in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Avada Kedavra, also known as the Killing Curse, kills a person instantaneously and without injury.
They are the Killing Curse, Avada Kedavra, the Cruciatus Curse, Crucio, and the Imperius Curse, Imperio.
Avada Kedavra
Topping the list for the most powerful spells in the Harry Potter universe is no other than Avada Kedavra, Voldemort's favorite to instill his will and fear onto others. The spell itself is a play on Abra Kadabra and is easy to cast by just about anyone in the Wizarding World.
Harry became so enamoured with the spell that he eventually used it to finish off Lord Voldemort. Here's how Harry's relationship with Expelliarmus became his signature – and why that's a good and bad thing.
Avada Kedavra
It's used to kill people, it's an Unforgivable Curse, and it was Voldemort's favourite, so it's going last.
Avada Kedavra has only one purpose: to kill. However, it's not the only curse that can be lethal. Stunners can be lethal, for instance — particularly if someone takes multiple stunners or one is a direct hit over the heart.
Malfoy spots Harry and casts a Cruciatus curse; Harry, defending himself, using the Half-Blood Prince's Sectumsempra spell without knowing its effects. To his horror, it gashes Draco's face and chest, spilling his blood everywhere. Moaning Myrtle flies off, screaming.
The three Unforgivable Curses in Harry Potter are Crucio, Imperio, and Avada Kedavra, and all three are available to Hogwarts Legacy players. Crucio subjects the victim to extreme torture, while Imperio puts them under the control of the spellcaster.
Voldemort killed Snape in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 using his Horcrux snake Nagini instead of his favorite Unforgivable Curse, Avada Kedavra.
In the films, Sectumsempra appears as a small flash of white light which causes a cut when it strikes the target. In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, Harry uses Sectumsempra on Malfoy only to find out the spell has, apparently, painlessly sliced him in half.
The spell that Dolohov hit Hermione with was actually purple: But the Death Eater Hermione had just struck dumb made a sudden slashing movement with his wand; a streak of what looked like purple flame passed right across Hermione's chest.
'Sectumsempra'
It causes excessive bleeding, as victims' faces and chests react to being 'slashed with an invisible sword'. When Harry used this on Malfoy not knowing what it would do, it was only Snape's intervention that appeared to save him from bleeding to death.
Firestorm. Firestorm was a spell that created a large ring of fire around the caster's wand. This spell is one of the last and most powerful spells that Albus Dumbledore cast using the elder wand before his death.
Crucio. Another of the three Unforgivable Curses, Crucio causes excruciating pain.
I never read it as being the Killing Curse that killed him, but the veil, so it really annoys me that in the movie, they added "Avada Kedavra" and pretty much rendered the veil pointless.
Snape save Draco by using Vulnera Sanentur spell. Sectumsempra is a curse invented by Professor Severus Snape, during his childhood, when he was known as "The Half-Blood Prince. He created it with intentions of using it against his enemies and it soon became one of his specialties."
In Deathly Hallows, Hermione faced a real test of her physical and psychological stamina. After being on the run from a bunch of Snatchers, the gang were taken to Malfoy Manor, where Bellatrix proceeded to torture Hermione using the Cruciatus Curse.
Fred is the only member of the Weasley family who dies, and plays a factor in his mother's duel with Bellatrix Lestrange. There are only two mentions of George after this.
He did not love anyone, and did not care to be loved. He felt nothing for his family, and only wanted his friends in school to rally around him because he wanted to hold power over them. Bellatrix Lestrange was obviously in love with him and worshiped him, but he only cared for her servitude, not her.
Snape used the Avada Kedavra curse to kill Albus Dumbledore.
Hermione's bluebell flames
Hermione's magical talents meant she was good at every spell, right from the beginning – Wingardium Leviosa, anyone? But the bluebell flames she once used against Snape became one of her trademarks, and it's also one of our favourites.
Ginevra Weasley was well-known for her ability to cast a particularly potent Bat-Bogey Hex, which could be considered her signature spell as she used it several times on people who annoyed her and was referred as "an accomplished caster" of the spell.
What Is Dumbledore signature spell? There were two; Apparation and Invisibility. Dumbledore must have used these particular skills thousands of time in his lifetime for any number of purposes. His vast gathering of knowledge probably came as a result of his skill in appearing and disappearing at will and unseen.
