God grant me
It is commonly quoted as: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Lord, in my head, I know that all control belongs to You—all power, all ability, all wisdom. But the human side of me wants to take control, solve problems, fix mistakes, right wrongs. I want to force the unruly, the frustrating, and the messy into submission.
I need to know that you care, that you love me, be my refuge from pain, replacing my distress with peace, and be my strength when I feel weak and find it hard to carry on. Help me not to fear the future but to boldly trust that you are in control when my emotions plunge me down, and when I am in despair.
These three powerful morning prayers are the prayers of thanksgiving, the Lord's Prayer, and the prayer of Jabez. Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, the Bible tells us to enter his gates with thanksgiving, and Jabez prayed to God and God granted him his request.
Ecclesiastes 7:13-29 ERV. Look at what God has made. You cannot change a thing, even if you think it is wrong. When life is good, enjoy it.
Father in heaven, I stand before You today in Your omnipotent presence to ask that You grant me strength. I want You to give me the strength to power through all of the tasks today — whether little or big. It is by Your will that I live oh Lord. And I know it is also by Your will I will not go weak today.
The most effective prayer, the one that is always answered, is this: “Father, glorify Your name.” “Answer my cry, O Lord, in a way that will accomplish Your will, for Your will is good, acceptable, and perfect. It is best for You, and therefore best for me and any others who may be affected by this prayer.
Dear heavenly Father, we praise you for your promises of steadfast love, daily mercies, and doing the impossible, for we need all three. Because of your steadfast love for us in Jesus, we have incomparable peace. Because of your daily mercies, we have the freedom to be vulnerable.
Confess and Surrender Your Need for Control
Go to God and be honest — tell Him how you feel. Say, “God I confess I like being in control. It makes me feel safe and secure. It makes me feel like I have a purpose.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Lord, I pray that the fruit of self-control will grow in me like a tree of strength. I pray that I will control what I say and do and make them subject to Your spirit. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Proverbs 25:28 Prays For Self-Control
So God, I pray, I pray for self-control in my own life. I pray for walls that guard me against all the adversary's attempts to pull me away from you, to pull me away from my wife, my children, from the work that you have called me to, from the way that you have called me to live.
It is the prayer of Psalm 26:2, “Examine me, O Lord, and try me; test my mind and my heart.” This prayer is comprised of only 13 words. But they are 13 dangerous words. The reason this prayer is so dangerous is that it is the one prayer many of us don't really want God to answer.
Silent Prayer Teaches Us Attention to Others
Regular silence before God can help us withdraw from the noise in our own minds and embrace both the struggles and aspirations of others. It's a false dichotomy to suggest that solitude is the opposite of an engaged life.
When it comes to answering prayers, no difficulties are too great for God to overcome. After all, it was “impossible” for God to rain manna down from heaven and part the Red Sea for the Jewish people. It was also impossible for Christ to feed the crowd with a few loaves and fishes.
It is called the "Jesus Prayer", and it consists simply in uttering the single word "Jesus" (or "Lord Jesus", or "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner") in any situation, at any time and place, either aloud or silently.
Lord Jesus, I come before you, just as I am, I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In your Name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works.
The Prophet Muhammed ﷺ said: “My Dear Uncle, ask Allah for Afiyah for Wallahi, you cannot be given anything better than Afiyah.” It is a simple Dua, Sincerely mean what you say while praying. “O Allah, I ask You to be saved from any Distress, Grief, Hardship, Harm, and don't test me, etc.”
The Bible says in Colossians 3:15 to be led by peace in making decisions. Don't let your emotions make your decisions. A good statement to remember is this: "Wisdom says wait; emotions say hurry."
Psalm 59:9, 16 and17
“You are my strength, I watch for you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely. … I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
When God takes away a sinful habit, He replaces it with a better way of living. When He takes away gossip or cursing, He replaces them with words of love and encouragement. God doesn't just want to remove the bad things in our lives; He wants to replace them with His goodness; to remake us from within.
