Letter size as mentioned before is the equivalent of A4, this would be used for general printing at home, letters, flyers, homework – you name it. Ledger (landscape) or Tabloid (portrait) is slightly larger than A3 and could be used for small posters, menus and record keeping.
While A0 and A10 size paper - the largest and smallest paper sizes in the range - are more 'specialist' in use, A4 is far more common. Whether in a professional or personal context, many of us are familiar with A4 as the 'standard' paper size, which is generally sold in a ream of 500 units.
For example the most commonly used paper size is A4 (297mm x 210mm) and the next paper size is A5 (210mm x 148.5mm) which is equal to half of the A4 dimensions.
What size is A6? Yup, you guessed it, A6 is half of A5, which is half of A4. As with paper sizes, the smaller the number is, the bigger the card blank will be.

Strictly speaking, it's not possible to print two full-size A5 sheets on A4. That's because there's an unprintable margin where the sheet is pinched and pulled. The A5 pages have to be scaled down to fit (and the margin trimmed out).
