1. First, when Damon told Elena that he loved her, but didn't deserve her. "When Damon gives Elena her necklace back and reveals that he loves her, but then compels her to forget. This entire moment is so emotional, especially when you rewatch the show."
For no less than eight seasons, The Vampire Diaries took audiences on a journey through Mystic Falls, the Other Side, and beyond. Epic though it might have been, the characters suffered no shortage of grief, loss, and a fair share of goodbyes, some still leaving a tear in fans' eyes years later.
Vampire Diaries—Rated TV-14 for sex, violence, alcohol, and drugs. The Vampire Diaries follows the life of Elena Gilbert, a high school girl who, after losing her parents in a car wreck, falls in love with a vampire named Stefan.
Not as bad as people think.
It does also depend on the maturity level of a child, some kids might not know as much and if that's the case they should probably watch the show with an older sibling or something. But other then that I believe 13+ is correct. Also, this show does have good role models in it.
Although Damon professed to be in love with Elena, his actions toward her were anything but selfless; he subjected her to torment by attacking her friends, slaying her younger brother, and attempting to force himself on her even after she declared her undying love for Stefan.
Damon loved Elena more than he ever loved Katherine. He was willing to give everything up to spend a normal human life with her. They defeated every odd when the universe seemed to be against them.
The episode ends with Elena and Damon fighting over their relationship and how much one depends on another. They decide to break up because their love makes them something else of what they really are but they end up in bed together because they cannot fight what they feel for each other.
Elena: 5. Over seven seasons of screentime, Elena managed to only kill five people, all taking place in seasons four and five. In general, Elena tries to avoid the violence associated with being a vampire, wanting to be human more than anything.
Off the dream, Damon takes a stake and stabs Rose in the heart killing her as a mercy to her pain, crying while he does it. Elena tries to comfort Damon who insists he does not care about Rose's death but he finally admits that he does not like to feel because it hurts.
Silas is by far the cleverest of all villains of The Vampire Diaries series. In fact, he was one of the two most powerful witches to be introduced to the show and the world's first immortal. He had shape-shifting abilities and mastery in creating illusions of anything that would terrify his victims.
Toxic: Elena Was Sired To Damon
This ensures that Elena has no choice but to follow Damon's orders due to her previous romantic feelings as a human. This element of Elena and Damon's relationship is toxic as it takes Elena's choices away and makes both characters doubt the authenticity of their love.
Later, Damon demand the truth after he and Katherine make out, and she confesses that she never loved him and that "it was always Stefan" that she loved. Later, she visits Caroline Forbes in the hospital and tells her to give the Salvatores a message: "Game on."
Stefan Salvatore
Stefan loved Elena more than anyone else and was entirely devoted to her.
Krystal was a vampire who was turned by Julian and was part of his army that resided in Mystic Falls. She has a one night stand with Damon Salvatore after he tries to get over Elena Gilbert's supposed "death."
Damon slept with both Elena and her mom, but that doesn't seem to bother Elena (if she knows).
Instead of killing people, though, Damon is busy burning Elena's body, in hopes that it'll get rid of his hallucination. His hallucination survives, though, and explains that by tricking Damon into getting rid of Elena, he's freed him to be himself.
Violence & Scariness. Fantastical violence and conflict (including vampire attacks, torture scenes, bloody wounds and bites, and hand-to-hand combat that involves people throwing each other into buildings and out of windows, etc.)
This show is rated for 13+ which is most appropriate maturity rating.
So vampires can rip the heart out of someone's chest (and on ”Vampire Diaries”, frequently do), and you'd think guys would enjoy that, but generally speaking, this is a show that has a loyal fan base of …mostly females.
