Nora promises to speak to Torvald and then reveals a great secret to Mrs. Linde—without Torvald's knowledge, Nora illegally borrowed money for the trip that she and Torvald took to Italy; she told Torvald that the money had come from her father.
Nora Helmer once secretly borrowed a large sum of money so that her husband could recuperate from a serious illness. She never told him of this loan and has been secretly paying it back in small installments by saving from her household allowance.
What secret has Nora been keeping from Torvald? She was in love with his brother before she married him.
At first, Nora hesitates, but soon enough, she decides to reveal her secret as they were talking about Torvald's illness. Not without pride, the woman says that she managed to raise enough money for their trip to Italy. It was the only place where her husband could get better.
While he thinks that such a bad character is in direct contrast to his “sweet little Nora,” we are aware that Krogstad and Nora have committed exactly the same crime—forgery.
While Helmer goes into the study with Dr Rank, Nora talks to her old friend Mrs Linde. Mrs Linde asks Nora to use her influence with Helmer to get her a job. Nora tells Mrs Linde her secret – she borrowed money to pay for Helmer's convalescence, and has been working to pay off the debt.
Nora is a victim of the male-dominated society of the nineteenth century. To save her husband, Torvald, she borrows money so that he might be able to recover from a life-threatening illness in a warmer climate.
In Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, Nora Helmer spends most of her on-stage time as a doll: a vapid, passive character with little personality of her own. Her whole life is a construct of societal norms and the expectations of others.
It was revealed in "Songs of Experience" that no one ever got shocked, it was just a trick Charlotte did to make the girls think they are hurting their friends. And to make them think that there was a point where they'd actually do it.
Nora has avoided her children, fearing to pollute them. In a conversation with her old nurse, she tells the servant that the children will have to get used to seeing less of their mother from now on. This is Nora's first suggestion of withdrawing from the life she has lived up until now.
Nora declares that she too has worked and sacrificed all these years. Her toil has saved someone she loves, she boasts, and she tells Christine how she borrowed 250 pounds when Torvald's health was in such danger that he needed to go to a southern climate to improve his condition.
While Krogstad initially does try to blackmail Nora, he has a more complicated backstory and eventually relents. Krogstad's motives and circumstances are of no interest to Nora and Torvald at this point in the play; how one appears to others is all that matters.
Nora discreetly explains that several years ago, when Torvald Helmer was very ill, she forged her dead fathers signature in order to illegally obtain a loan.
In the final moments of clarity she has at the end of the play, Nora claims that she has been “wronged greatly” by her father, who ensured that “nothing's become of [her]” because he constantly exposed her to his opinions and forced his views upon her (Ibsen 1015).

At the end of A Doll's House, Nora makes the ultimate assertion of her agency and independence by walking out on her husband and her children in order to truly understand herself and learn about the world.

In "Game On, Charles", it is revealed to The Liars by the police that Sara is in fact alive, she was the other girl with a yellow top down in the Dollhouse that The Liars didn't know about and has presumably been held captive in A's Dollhouse for more than two years.
Krogstad is the antagonist in A Doll's House, but he is not necessarily a villain. Though his willingness to allow Nora's torment to continue is cruel, Krogstad is not without sympathy for her.
The play was so controversial that Ibsen was forced to write a second ending that he called “a barbaric outrage” to be used only when necessary. The controversy centered around Nora's decision to abandon her children, and in the second ending she decides that the children need her more than she needs her freedom.

According to director May, the story indicates how gender inequality harms everyone involved—like Torvald, Nora and their children—not just women.
While Dr. Rank was never married, and, it is revealed, has silently loved Nora for years.
After Krogstad rescinds his blackmail threat and returns the loan document with the signature Nora forged, Torvald is relieved and tells Nora he forgives her. However, Torvald uses his forgiveness as an additional means of objectifying and controlling Nora by saying he now owns her doubly.
Nora and Ren have been together ever since the attack on Kuroyuri which happened when they were both very young. At some point during this time, Nora began to develop feelings for Ren but is quick to dismiss any idea of them being "together-together".
