The Elder wand was the first hallow created, made by Death himself, and it was said to be the most powerful wand that ever existed. The Elder Wand is made of elder wood, and it's core is the tail hair of a Thestral. It's 15” long and has carvings down its length that resemble clusters of elderberries.
Tom Riddle's wand was 13 1/2" in length and belonged to Tom Riddle, the wizard who later became known as Lord Voldemort. The wand was made from yew with a phoenix feather core. It was manufactured by Garrick Ollivander and was the "brother" or "twin" of the wand of Harry Potter, as their wands share cores.
After interrogating and killing Grindelwald, Lord Voldemort flew to the White Tomb near Hogwarts and used his own wand to crack open the tomb. He proceeded to remove the sheets from around Dumbledore's body, allowing him to take the wand within.
Only in his final encounter with Harry at the Battle of Hogwarts was Voldemort told that he had failed to win the true allegiance of the wand, as he did not gain ownership by defeating its previous owner. Despite this, Voldemort used the Elder Wand to cast his final Killing Curse against Harry's Disarming Charm.
The exception to this was the third Hallow – the Elder Wand. This was the one Voldemort had heard of, and he coveted it for its history and unbeatable reputation. At first he wanted only to defeat Harry, but after a time he became obsessed with obtaining it to make himself truly invulnerable.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
He wasn't decisively more powerful than Voldemort. Instead, what makes the focus on Grindelwald so exciting is that he was probably more dangerous than Voldemort -- a notion that has everything to do with his relationship with an unequivocal good guy: Albus Dumbledore.
The most powerful wand in the entire Harry Potter universe is the Elder wand — one of the three Deathly Hallows. Made out of the tail hair of a Thestral, the wand can only be handled by the strongest of wizards. Made by Death itself, the wand can be used with the other Deathly Hallows to make one the master of Death.
“Dumbledore didn't want to lose his wand at that point and Draco disarmed him. So that meant that the wand gave Draco its allegiance, even though Draco never knew it, even though Draco never touched it. “From that moment on, that wand gave its allegiance to Draco, and it wouldn't work as well for anyone but Draco.”
This nuance was lost on Lord Voldemort, who wrongly assumed Severus Snape held the Elder Wand because he was Dumbledore's killer, when in reality Draco had disarmed Dumbledore before Snape arrived on the scene, making Malfoy the wand's true new owner.
The three Deathly Hallows – the Invisibility Cloak, the Resurrection Stone and the Elder Wand – have tempted many a wizard over the years.
Draco's wand is 10 inches long, made of hawthorn wood with a unicorn hair core. Hawthorn is a protective tree, and it is said to ward off evil spirits. The unicorn hair core gives Draco's wand consistency and loyalty.
James Potter inherited the Cloak of Invisibility from his father Fleamont Potter. Fleamont was a descendant of Hardwin Potter who married Iolanthe Peverell, the only daughter of one of the descendants of Ignotus Peverell, the original owner of the Cloak of Invisibility.
The Harry Potter books describe Riddle's gradual visual transformation as he becomes the infamous Lord Voldemort. Presumably the direct result of his Horcrux endeavors, Riddle's skin became deathly pale and his eyes red and bloodshot. It is believed this is how Voldemort looked during the First Wizarding War.
The most likely reason why Lord Voldemort's nose disappeared and he devolved into such an evil-looking creature is that as he dabbled deeper into the Dark Arts, his appearance gradually became as distorted as what remained of his twisted soul.
Draco Malfoy's mother Narcissa was cold, cunning and devoted to the Dark Lord. But she was also a mother, which meant she was willing to risk everything to make sure her son was safe. When Harry survived Voldemort's Killing Curse for the second time, Narcissa pretended he was dead so she could get to Draco.
Draco had several reasons for lying to Bellatrix, including the fact that he was never a bad person. Moreover, he no longer found working for the Dark Lord appealing and hated how Voldemort treated his family. He did not intend to harm anyone and believed Harry was the only person capable of defeating Voldemort.
Warning The Trio To Keep Hermione Safe
At the Quidditch World Cup, Draco is quick to sneer at the Trio, and warn them to keep Hermione out of sight - as a Muggle-born, she could well be a target for the wizards rioting and tormenting the Muggle camp-owner.
Umbridge's magical object overall is definitely one of the weakest wands in Harry Potter.
The longest wand in the Wizarding World actually belongs to Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry's second year at Hogwarts. Warner Bros.
In Half-Blood Prince, Neville receives a new wand made of cherry wood and unicorn hair, as his previous wand (which was actually his father's) was destroyed while fighting Death Eaters in Order of the Phoenix.
We know that he was writing the forewords to a new edition of his book where he confirmed his role in the capture of Grindelwald (as shown in the Fantastic Beasts movie) in 2017, so he did become at least 119–120 years old, but he might simply have been too old to fight.
The only one Grindelwald did seem to have genuine fear of appears to be Albus Dumbledore, as he quickly fled the scene after Ariana was killed trying to intervene in a duel he started, and later in life when he refrained from attacking England despite his possession of the Elder Wand out of fear of his former friend.
Grindelwald. Grindelwald is renowned on the same level as Dumbledore and Voldemort. And while Snape is powerful, he is nowhere close to Grindelwald. At their peak, Grindelwald stomps hard.
