Fetal anasarca, also commonly referred to as “water baby”, or “walrus baby”, is when a fetus has generalized subcutaneous edema and fluid accumulation throughout the body. Water puppies are generally stillborn or die shortly after birth. While anasarca affects many dog breeds, it appears to be more frequent in the brachycephalic breeds including the Bulldog, French bulldog, Pug, Boston terrier and others.
Treatments for fading puppy syndrome include warmth, fluids, and oxygen. Antibiotics are given if there's a bacterial infection. The puppy will be fed by hand until they are strong enough to nurse independently. Monitor the puppy's weight daily.
The failure to thrive in newborn puppies and kittens, or neonates, is known as fading puppy and kitten syndrome. The syndrome can occur from birth to 9 weeks of age. Affected neonates can decline quickly and die, so immediate detection and treatment are key to survival.
This complication prevents these puppies from standing due to their rear limbs having weak muscles. If left untreated, it could lead to poor respiration, poor circulation, inability to feed for themselves, or even keep milk in their stomach.

Usually, dogs turn over water bowls when they are bored or too hot. Also, if the water or the bowl is dirty, your dog may turn over its bowl.
