The species had a very long life expectancy, spanning at least several centuries; Yoda lived nearly a thousand years before dying of old age, and they aged very slowly, remaining in infancy for at least fifty standard years.
At 900 years old, Yoda passed away, telling Luke that there was another Skywalker. Luke's faith in his father proved to be well placed. Anakin returned from the dark side to destroy the Emperor.
Regardless of the source, it's safe to say Yoda's species ages one human year for every 10 to 12.5 years of their species. This would put Yoda, at the time of his death, between 72 and 90 in human years.
How did Yoda live so long? Yoda's species naturally live to an older age. His ability to engage in Force-healing also augmented his already-long lifespan, allowing him to live until age 900. Yoda died of old age in Return of the Jedi, but he also retained his powers when he became a Force ghost.
He died of old age on Dagobah. Fans of Jedi Master Yoda likely know that he retains much of his power even after passing into the Living Force.
Yoda held the title of Grand Master of the Jedi Order since the days of the High Republic Era. At some point, Yoda took on a human named Kantam Sy as his Padawan. The two were stationed at the Jedi Temple on the planet Endovar.
Although his choice to help with the droid attack on the Wookiees seemed to be a prudent one in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Yoda's Kashyyyk mission was actually his worst mistake.
Unlike the characters with disabilities discussed so far, Yoda's disability is not “ugly” like Palpatine's facial deformities or Vader's breathing. In fact, people might even describe his appearance as “cute.” Yoda's disabilities are truly functional: he walks with a cane and he is small in stature.
Even more unusual is the way Yoda famously speaks, ordering his sentences object-subject-verb, or OSV: The lightsaber Yoda grasped. Or, to use an example from an actual Yoda utterance: “Much to learn, you still have.”
Not just Obi-Wan Kenobi, but Master Yoda and Luke Skywalker make the list of Force Ghosts. And they can engage with the living world. So, it seems like these force users do become immortal.
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the founders of the Jedi Order were Jedi Masters Cala Brin, Garon Jard, Rajivari, and Ters Sendon.
Since Season 1, it's pretty clear that Mando is the adoptive father of Baby Yoda.
The character's name was later changed to be “Minch Yoda” in the first draft of The Empire Strikes Back screenplay by Leigh Brackett. The name was changed again to the shorter “Yoda.”
When the Dark Lord used Force lightning to disarm him, Yoda lost the lightsaber, which fell to the ground below, but he recovered the weapon, and kept it in a box in his hut on Dagobah while in his exile.
Yoda says how he has been training Jedi for 800 years. The second time that Yoda mentions his long life is in Return of the Jedi when he says to Luke, “When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not.” If we take Yoda literally at his word here, that means that the Jedi Master died at the ripe old age of 900.
Although, the two didn't really like each other at first, Yoda and Yaddle eventually grew very close, and over time their relationship even blossomed into a long lasting romance until Yoda's own death. The two had one son, Yoder Minch, a Jedi Master who would have a profound impact during the Yuuzhan Vong War.
Yoda Could Be Dyslexic
From all the others listed, this one is the most convincing. Every word he speaks is proof that he has difficulty arranging words in the correct order and probably does find it hard to read certain things sometimes. These are all signs of dyslexia.
Grandmaster Yoda was so skilled with this power that he could heal himself or all in his immediate vicinity with just a wave of his hand. Near the end of his life, Obi-Wan Kenobi also developed this skill.
Weakness: Arrogance
Yoda was one of the wisest Jedi to ever live with, but he also became arrogant, especially in the years leading up to the fall of the Jedi Order. After Darth Maul revealed himself to the Jedi in The Phantom Menace, Yoda became aware that the Sith were not extinct after all.
The species had a very long life expectancy, spanning at least several centuries; Yoda lived nearly a thousand years before dying of old age, and they aged very slowly, remaining in infancy for at least fifty standard years.
When Obi-Wan tells Yoda that Luke is their “last hope,” Yoda says, “No. There is another.” While the events of Return of the Jedi suggest this “other” person was Leia, it's also possible Yoda was referring to Rey.
Legend had it that Yoda—a Jedi who became Grand Master—was trained by N'Kata Del Gormo. A Force-sensitive Hysalrian, N'Kata Del Gormo was trained in the ways of the Force and achieved the rank of Master within the Jedi Order.
