If you've watched season 4, you'll know that our beloved Hellfire King Eddie was brutally killed in the final episode after being bitten to death by Demobats.
Eddie dies sacrificing himself and the other characters all feel the impact of what he has done. It's easy to imagine a final season of Stranger Things that will aim to be as emotional and impactful as Eddie's final moments in the Upside Down. Eddie puts up a valiant fight, but unfortunately, there are too many of the creatures for Eddie to fend off. While Dustin makes it back into the Upside Down and is able to be there for Eddie as he takes his final breaths, Eddie succumbs to his injuries from the bat attack and dies in Dustin's arms.
The kicker of it all? Eddie's final words to Dustin: "I love you, man." If those words weren't already bringing on the waterworks, Dustin tearfully replies "I love you, too." And then Eddie is gone. The impact of those words in that moment could not have been more perfectly heartbreaking.
Eddie's death was a heavy blow to the audience as they were rendered inconsolable in the wake of the awful incident. However, fans have also concocted various theories and multiple speculations ever since, all of which involve the revival of the leader of the Hellfire Club.
Sadly, Eddie never had the chance, dying in a moment that could be questioned as a sacrifice in general. Instead, it seems like he was killed for potential shock value or to show that someone who was not the main character did not survive the battle against Vecna.
The Duffer brothers stated that the only logical conclusion to Eddie's story was death. In a way, he was meant to be a tragic character. "There was never any other arc for him and there was no 'how do you survive this'?" said Ross Duffer. "At the very end, you see people still drawing devil horns on his head.
Eddie had been accused of the murders that had been committed at the hands of Vecna. Clearing his name would have been almost impossible had he survived. Eddie's dramatic arc also paved the way to his demise. His cowardly act to run away when Chrissy was killed set his character up for his eventual heroic sacrifice.
and Joseph Quinn, and others involved with production as to whether or not Eddie will return have also generally pointed towards 'no'. On the Emmys red carpet, producer Shwan Levy said that the chances of Eddie returning were “highly unlikely.”
He died from a heart attack, caused by the shock from a young Eddie running into the street after a lost ball on his birthday. The Blue Man teaches Eddie that all lives are connected, even strangers.
Instead of fleeing again, as he did in previous instances of danger, this time Eddie stands his ground and fights. It's his last heroic act. Though Eddie manages to occupy the Demobats until the battle is over, he succumbs to his wounds. He dies in Dustin's arms in the Upside Down, and his body is never recovered.
He would come back as a member of the undead, and it is also possible that death and resurrection can happen in the Upside Down. The cherry on top of the theory is that Kas the Bloody Handed favors a sword and shield as his weapon of choice, and Eddie took the same makeshift weapons into his battle in the Upside Down.
He shows to be oddly friendly towards Niko Bellic, yet also uncomfortably (and unwisely) open about his disturbing fetishes. While his actions are never shown onscreen, Eddie is a serial killer who preys on innocent people and performs grisly acts with his victims.
'' Eddie was mad, but he pushed through his anger and sacrificed himself regardless, which is much more powerful than painting him as a saint who always reacted appropriately and calmly.
The Duffer brothers have also confirmed that at the end of Season 4, Max is alive yet "brain dead, blind, and all of her bones are broken." The big mystery is where the redhead is mentally. When Eleven later enters the Void to find Max, all she sees is darkness.
Demobats are flying predatory creatures originating from the Upside Down. They are part of the hive mind controlled by Vecna, and are seemingly related to Demogorgons.
Eddie may not become a vampire per se, but according to theory, there's the potential for him to simply be undead and be brought back by Vecna to torture our still-living characters. It's a thought that has floated around the fandom for years and with Vecna's deceitful nature, it doesn't seem far-fetched.
Stranger Things Theory: Eddie Is Actually 010 From the Hawkins Lab Massacre. A Stranger Things theory suggests that Eleven wasn't the only test subject to survive the Hawkins Lab Massacre, and that Eddie Munson is actually 010.
Eddie Munson
It's a shame that Eddie didn't have the Satanic powers that Hawkins believed he did, because he might have survived the Upside Down otherwise.
And not only is it clear the audience should believe this, but it's evident Eddie believes it about himself. As he dies he says to Dustin, “I didn't run away this time.” Like he's finally proud of who he's become.
His last words to Dustin are simply, "I love you, man." Dustin, through tears, replied, "I love you, too."
It was Tala's hands that Eddie had felt right before his death; she was bringing him to heaven. Eddie felt himself be pulled away under water where all of his pain, weariness, scars and bad memories were washed away. He is lifted above a pier and finally rejoined with Marguerite.
One thing the executive producer will give away is that Eddie, who became paralyzed in a hit-and-run at the end of Season 2, will remain in a wheelchair throughout the duration of the drama. “He doesn't walk again.
And Eddie wants to say something, and he dies in the middle of his sentence. He says, "Richie, I..." And then goes. It was two different ways of solving the scene. I felt it was a little bit bit overkill, to find, after all that time, to come back and Eddie was still alive.
Stranger Things' Eddie return chances gets a disappointing update from star Joseph Quinn as he reveals it's unlikely he will be back for season 5. While fans of the show continue to call for his revival, Joseph Quinn has a disappointing response for Stranger Things' Eddie return chances.
