Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon, is known for his rules. And his Marine Corps haircut. High and tight.
According to TwoRedDots.com, producers of NCIS asked Harmon to stop shaving. They wanted Gibbs to look “gruffer.” And they wanted his gruffness to be authentic, so Harmon needed to grow the facial hair.

McGee's weight loss led to speculation that Sean Murray, the actor who portrays McGee, was ill; in October 2010 Murray, via his Twitter account, explained that it was a deliberate weight loss via dieting, consuming only organic food and abstaining from alcohol and sugar. Murray has lost 25 pounds.
Up until the middle of season 13, Gibbs has more or less abandoned the upstairs bedroom of his house in favor of sleeping on the couch downstairs, since he has no inclination to keep his domestic habits attractive living by himself, especially with no romantic partner most of the time to appease.
His facial scars are the result of a knife attack outside a nightclub where he had been working as a DJ. After leaving the club he was attacked by a gang, stabbed and slashed with a knife, leaving him with scars. The scars on his face are referred to as a Glasgow smile.
The boat that Gibbs was building during the first six seasons of NCIS was a particularly personal project for the Navy special agent, as it was named after Gibbs' daughter, Kelly. In NCIS lore, Kelly and her mother, Gibbs' first wife, Shannon, were killed in a car accident after their driver was shot by a drug dealer.
Over the years, McGee had seen how Gibbs was consumed by his job in an unhealthy way, and that was what McGee wanted to avoid. It was his concern for himself and his family's well-being that made him decline the job as NCIS team leader. He thought about taking the gig, but felt it was too big of a risk.

As McGee started working at NCIS headquarters, him and Abby started spending lots of time together both in and out of the office. In that moment, he whispers in Ziva's ear “Aht lo leh-vahd,” which means “you are not alone” in Hebrew. Ziva tells him "I know", before smiling at Tony and walking away to catch her flight.
Delilah's entire life changed the night an explosion rocked a gala she was attending. A piece of shrapnel lodged in her spine and subsequently paralyzed both of her legs. Terrified he was going to lose her, McGee rushed to the hospital to give his full love and support.
NCIS is full of mysteries, but Sean Murray put the mystery surrounding his weight loss to bed in a tweet to his followers. The NCIS actor said: “To those who have asked what I did to lose the 25 lbs: 14 months of no alcohol and almost no sugar. Ate strictly organic.” (via Twitter).
But what exactly was that decision and why did he need to make it? He told Torres first, at the start of the episode. McGee shared that he was getting a vasectomy. And yes, Torres reacted just as you would think: shocked at the idea of McGee thinking of doing this.
