What kind of heart is God looking for? Deuteronomy 10:16 says “God needs a circumcised heart”. We must therefore open our hearts to God by removing all reservations, coverings, secrets and unbelief. Only when we circumcise our hearts, can we be obedient and walk in the ways of the Lord.
Our generous heart can touch the heart of Jesus and make us so pleasing to God! Our generous service, being generous with our time with Jesus and being generous with our giving - are all honouring to God and when we honour God, God will honor us. A GENEROUS HEART IS A KIND OF HEART THAT PLEASES GOD.
Elements of Seeking God:
Pray – talk to God, listen for His voice, bring your requests to Him with thanksgiving. Seek God's face – the goal is to strengthen your relationship with Him, to discover and understand Who He is, to find out how to please Him, to know His love, to become more like Him.
Ultimately, I believe that seeking God wholeheartedly means that we're learning to give him our full attention. That even as we go about our day, we can pray continually, stop and seek his guidance when necessary, rest in his presence, and walk hand in hand with him as our Lord and Savior.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
On the other hand, Scripture shows how a healthy heart is one led by God's Spirit, and Galatians 5:22-23 provides some specific examples: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. A healthy heart is ruled by God's Spirit, not our flesh.
"Bless your heart" is a phrase common to the Southern United States. The phrase has multiple meanings and is used to express genuine sympathy but sometimes as an insult that conveys condescension, derision, or contempt.
Joyful sacrifice, relentless submission, godly sorrow, and soul-ravishing satisfaction—these are the marks of a heart captivated by the glory and beauty of God.
The more time you spend in the Word of God, the quicker you will recognize His voice and hear from Him regarding your heart's desires. Whenever your heart's desires are God's will for you—it will require that you depend on Him. Spend time in prayer, ask Him to reveal His will to you, and have ears to hear.
Often, the exhortation to “ask Jesus to come into your heart” is used as a simple way to say, “Ask Jesus to enter your life” or “Allow the Lord to take control.” If this is done in the context of presenting the whole gospel, then there's no harm done.
God Is On A Quest
Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself as a seeker. We find Him on a continual pursuit for something. We find the Father seeking (John 4:23), scanning the earth from heaven (Ps 14:2), His eyes running to and fro throughout the planet to find something (2 Chr 16:9).
That is of the Divine Heart of God the Father, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Take, for example, Romans 10:9-10—“if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
In the Old Testament, God calls those who receive His grace to love Him supremely and enthrone Him as their heart's desire (Deut. 6:4). As they seek to do so, a paradoxical change occurs. The initial thirst of their hearts is satisfied by His grace and love.
The first step to receive the desires of your heart is to catch a vision. If you can see it, you can have it. That doesn't mean if you want it badly enough, you'll get it. It means if you can catch a vision in your spirit (the inward man) and believe you will receive what you pray for—it will be yours (Mark 11:24).
The spiritual heart has no physical form and so is limitless. It's our connection with the Divine and is like an inner sun, that shines forth Divine Light into all areas of our lives. The spiritual heart is always awake, always ready to light our path to enlightenment.
3) A right heart is a heart which BELIEVES ON CHRIST ALONE for salvation, and in which Christ dwells by faith (Rom. 10:10; Eph. 3:17). It rests all its hopes of pardon and eternal life on Christ's atonement, Christ's mediation, and Christ's intercession.
(of a person) without malice, treachery, or evil intent; honest; sincere; guileless.
Worship is about praising God and giving to him, not receiving. God has already given us life, his Son on the cross, grace and the promise of eternal life. When we find ourselves falling into worship for our own gain, we need to come back to the heart of worship.
Some of the primary heart qualities are unconditional love, care, compassion, connection, kindness, forgiveness, gratitude, patience, acceptance, cooperation and many more we all know, yet they often slip from our awareness when needed the most.
In the supernatural, the spiritual heart is related to the fleshy heart. The physical heart is an organ that pumps blood to different areas of the body to survive and the spiritual heart pumps the spiritual blood to the spirit man for survival. The blood represents life (Jesus) or death (devil).
