Use the concealer to make a triangle under the eyes. Use a small dab of concealer on the forehead and chin. Then blend with your fingers or a makeup sponge. Your face will look brighter, slimmer and more defined.
Stylists recommend medium-length or longer hair for a round face because it elongates your face shape. Keeping your hair below the chin draws attention away from the jaw line.
Long hair is perfect and universally flattering on round faces because it lengthens the face. If you have a round face, your ideal cut will fall a few inches below the chin or longer.
Protruding Cupid's Bow
The cupid's bow is the area right above the center of your lips, earning its name due to the arch/bow shape it creates. Youthful lips have a projected Cupid's Bow that keeps the lips from sagging, giving them a more voluminous look.
The same idea applies to makeup: when you wear dark colored lipsticks, it makes your lips look smaller. Wear lighter colors, and they automatically look bigger.
Shy magazine recommends taking pictures with the camera slightly above your head. This forces you to look up for the picture which hides your double chin and the downward angle of the camera makes your entire body look slimmer.
Blonde Highlights
So getting a lighter color of highlights on your hair can give the illusion of thickness and volume which in turn can give the illusion of having a slimmer face. I would suggest going for blonde hair highlights only if you have light brunette or dark blonde hair as this will make it look natural.
"Just like there's no such thing as a 'perfect' body shape, the same goes for face shapes," says Jon Reyman, celebrity hairstylist and Dyson global stylist. "With that that in mind, short hairstyles do work well for round faces, but it's all about the cut, length, and styling," he adds.
“Round-shaped faces should avoid blunt haircuts and short hairstyles that will only make their face appear even rounder,” says Udoh. She notes that “styles such as a blunt bob or other blunt cut will shorten the appearance of your face and make it appear wider,” which is never the goal.
Having a chubby face shouldn't stop you from rocking a haircut with bangs. In fact, bangs can ease out the puffiness of your chubby face and make it appear slimmer. Side-swept bangs cut at an angle make a chubby face look slender. Wispy bangs and piece-y, long fringe bangs are equally flattering chubby face bangs.
Try a Ponytail or an Updo – building extra height at the crown of the head narrows round features and makes the face seem thinner. For a simple hairstyle, twist hair into a high knot and fasten it with a barrette. Or try a ponytail for the most slimming effect, match the ponytail height to the tips of your cheekbones.
"If you want to slim and lift the face with blush, apply the color mostly to the tops of your cheekbones. Think of it like placing your blush where you would normally place your highlight. Then, blend the color softly towards the apples of your cheeks."
Those eight glasses of water per day can help your face look slimmer and speed your metabolism to shed overall fat from the body. So keep track of your water intake level. Also every time you feel thirsty, reach out for a glass of water to see if it is really hunger or just thirst.
Why are my cheeks chubby, but I'm skinny? If you're slim and still have chubby cheeks and a rounded face, then you probably have large buccal fat pads. A buccal fat pad is an area of fat in the cheeks between the facial muscles right below the cheekbones.
"Typically as we age undereye puffiness can specifically become more pronounced. This is due to the weakening of the structural support provided by our muscles, bones, and ligaments - which causes the protrusion of the anatomical 'fat pads' under our eyes (making them look 'puffy')," comments Viscusi.
