Avoid eating seeds, nuts, corn, and any other form of roughage (lettuce, vegetables, bran cereals, etc.) or fiber. Clear Liquids: It is important that large volumes of clear liquids be consumed the day before your procedure up to midnight to avoid dehydration.

However, in general, in the days leading up to your colonoscopy you are allowed to eat: Eggs. Fruit with the skin and seeds removed. Lean meat, chicken and/or fish.
OK to eat:
Buttermilk. Cheese, including cottage cheese. Yogurt. Sour cream.
The biggest culprits that will show up in a colonoscopy and obscure our view are foods like nuts, seeds and high-fiber cereals. You also want to avoid granola, coconut, dried fruit and fresh fruit with the skin on, like apples and pears, or fruit with seeds, like strawberries and raspberries.
You can help the cleansing process by eating light 3 or 4 days before the procedure. Doctors recommend low-fiber foods that are easy to digest and leave your system quickly. You can have: White bread, pasta, and rice.
Colonoscopy is a procedure used to detect abnormalities in the large intestine (colon). One day before the procedure, it is advised not to eat any solid or semi-solid food, such as mashed potatoes, applesauce, oatmeal, etc. A clear liquid diet must be taken 24 to 72 hours before the procedure.
Foods that you may eat include:

Two Days Before Your Appointment
STOP eating high-fiber foods such as vegetables and beans until after your colonoscopy. You can eat all other types of foods today.
Such a user-friendly approach would be beneficial for elderly patients and those with comorbid illnesses such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension. In most local hospitals, patients are advised to stop consuming solid meals about 24 hours before the day of the colonoscopy.
1 Day Before Your Colonoscopy (Prep Day)
Before 10:00 am, you may have a small, light breakfast. Examples of a light breakfast are: eggs, soup or broth with noodles (no meat or vegetables), white crackers, white rice, white potatoes, white bread, Boost® or Ensure®. At 10:00 am, begin a clear liquid diet.
Foods like yogurt, ice cream, and cereal may have added fiber that you don't expect which can make them harder to purge. Unfortunately, when foods aren't properly digested, they can get in the way of the camera during your colonoscopy. This could cause inaccuracies in the test.
FOLLOW A LOW FIBER DIET.
Avoid products containing Olestra (a fat substitute found in some fat-free and low-fat foods) for one week. A few examples of foods you may eat are dairy products, meats, poultry, fish, pasta, white rice, white bread, eggs, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots or squash.
The Colonoscopy Diet
Your bowel should be as empty as possible for the examination. For this reason, your doctor may recommend a low-fiber diet beginning several days before a colonoscopy to help prepare your colon. Foods like grains, fruits, and vegetables all include fiber, which the body does not digest.

A: It is normal to feel hungry whilst preparing for a colonoscopy, particularly in the liquid-only stage. It is important to follow the food intake plan in order to ensure that the prep is effective.
