Foxes are cunning, resourceful and fiercely intelligent – remind you of anything? That's right – we wouldn't be surprised if some members of Slytherin house find themselves with a fox Patronus. Foxes are also highly adaptable and can live in many diverse habitats around the world.
Albatross
As the rarest Patronus possible, the Albatross represents an enormous bird that flies freely across any sea. This Patronus represents those who are simultaneously fearless, optimistic, happy-go-lucky, and ambitious.
Having a Wolf as your Patronus means you find comfort in community and consistency – two unusual comforts for the noble house of Slytherin.
Lion - The lion, along with being the mascot of Gryffindor House, is often seen as the "king of beasts." Lions generally live in close-knit prides, which they are fiercely protective of.
The Albatross is the rarest Harry Potter Patronus. It is the one belonging to the lowest number of Wizarding World fans.
He does not have a patronus, and has never been able to cast the spell.
BONUS: J.K. Rowling revealed that her Patronus was a pine marten, but changed to a heron. When Pottermore revealed its brand new Patronus test in 2016, which Rowling wrote herself, she told fans on Twitter that she had taken it twice.
Its founder was the medieval witch Helga Hufflepuff. The emblematic animal is a badger, and yellow and black are its colours. The Head of Hufflepuff is Pomona Sprout and the Fat Friar is the House's patron ghost.
Harry's Patronus, a stag, is certainly the most prominent in the series, as well as the strongest. Unlike many wizards, he could produce his Patronus at the age of thirteen, with guidance from Remus Lupin.
[Harry Potter] Salazar Slytherin's patrons was a Snake, Godric Gryffindor's a Lion, Rowena Ravenclaw's a Raven, and Helga Hufflepuff's a Badger.
The serpent represents Slytherin and appears in many places throughout Hogwarts, as well as outside it – the doorknocker of number twelve, Grimmauld Place even had one! Witches and wizards who can speak to snakes are called Parselmouths, and house founder, Salazar Slytherin was famous for this ability.
You can be incredibly brave and be a Slytherin
Bravery and chivalry are the most recognised traits when it comes to Gryffindor – though they don't have the monopoly on courage. There have been many Slytherins who have also demonstrated these characteristics. Regulus Black and Severus Snape are two perfect examples.
Lucius Malfoy's patronus is a peacock first. It is mentioned in chapter of Deathly Hallows as Snape is walking to the Malfoy's mansion. The first five years Rowling spent on Harry Potter were spent determining rules about what her characters could and could not d0.
Secondly, just because nearly all bad wizards are Slytherins doesn't mean all Slytherins are bad wizards. Severus Snape, Horace Slughorn, Andromeda Tonks, Narcissa Malfoy and Regulus Black were all Slytherin heroes in their own way, if you think about it.
His Patronus is a dragon, since his name means dragon in Latin and he shows no particular fondness for any other creature.
He can't cast a Patronus
In a Q&A with Harry Potter fans on Twitter, J.K. Rowling was quizzed what Hagrid's Patronus would be. In reply, she wrote, 'Hagrid couldn't produce a Patronus. It's a very difficult spell. '
Slytherin corresponds roughly with the element of water with serpents being commonly associated with the sea and lochs in western European mythology, as well as serpents being physically fluid and flexible animals.
Filius Flitwick is the Charms Master at Hogwarts and the head of Ravenclaw house. He is a very short, dwarf-like man.
Minerva McGonagall:
Professor McGonagall is head of Gryffindor house and is the Transfiguration teacher. If you've read Chapter One of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone you will know that she can turn into a tabby cat!
When asked about what form Hagrid's Patronus takes, Rowling replied that Hagrid actually can't produce a Patronus because “it's a very difficult spell.”
We learn later that the doe was Severus Snape's Patronus. Carefully examining the text shows that Hermione had her beaded bag open when she told Harry where they had stopped. Phineas Nigellus's portrait inside it overheard Hermione and reported that to Snape.
The Patronus options on the quiz are varied, but once you take the test, you can't retake it and get another.
