Focus on bonding activities when you're home with your baby, such as talking, singing, and reading. Touching, cradling, and stroking your baby can be a great way to connect. Infant massage, skin-to-skin contact, and tummy time are also great to do with your newborn at home.

Making time for cuddling and play time with your baby as part of your daily activities is important for their growth and development. The key is to interact with your newborn, rather than giving them games and toys. Ideas for playing include: making eye contact, smiling and talking.
That's why we asked our experts how much time per day we should spend playing with our babies in order for them to get all of the benefits that play time can provide. To put it simply: between 20 minutes to one hour per day.

#5: Your Baby Can Feel Lonely
For the first time in their existence, they experience physical separation from their caregivers. After constantly hearing a heartbeat and being 'held', being put down for long periods of time can be quite scary and lonely. Some infants will go down easily and seem content to be alone.
The longer you hold your baby, the better. Any amount of time is good, but it is best to try for at least 1 to 2 hours each day.
E (EAT): When your baby wakes from nighttime or nap sleep, you'll want to immediately feed them. The purpose of the EWS cycle is to break the association that “feeding time means sleepy time" and to encourage full feedings. To do this, make sure the baby is fed as soon as they awaken.
For formula-fed babies, you can think about phasing out night feeds from 6 months of age. If your baby is formula fed and aged over 6 months, they're unlikely to be waking at night because they're hungry. This is because infant formula is digested more slowly than breastmilk.
