Black Noir is one of The Seven's most mysterious members, but his combination of superpowers and fighting skills makes him one of its most powerful.
In The Boys #21, The Seven's failed attempt to save a hijacked plane during 9/11 features Black Noir falling off the aircraft and plunging his death. However, given the later reveal that Black Noir was secretly a Homelander clone, his powers explain how he survived when nobody understood how he lived.
During Payback's fight against Soldier Boy, Black Noir received catastrophic brain injuries that left him both unable to verbally communicate and saddled with bizarre hallucinations of cartoon animals.
While Homelander always relied solely on his powers to win battles, Black Noir has all the same abilities plus actual combat training. Noir also seems even more mentally unstable than Homelander, which would likely translate to him being even more brutal in a fight.
Biological. Blunt Force/Limited Durability: Despite being more powerful than Homelander, Black Noir is not immortal.
However, viewers will likely wonder why Black Noir's healing powers have not helped him recover from these injuries. He has healed from a variety of severe injuries throughout the duration of The Boys, but Black Noir's scars are too severe for even him to overcome.
However, Noir's fear of Soldier Boy is surprisingly bigger than his loyalty to Homelander. When Noir escaped from Vought due to the news of Soldier Boy returning, Homelander was genuinely distraught over the news as he believed Noir always had his back.
Even after being a ruthless hunter, he spares the life of the little kid. Later in the season, he is seen crying as he finds out about the compound V news, which hints that he might have had a good relationship with his parents and guardians, and is now disheartened thinking that they probably used him.
Black Noir is the main antagonist of the highly controversial adult comic series The Boys. He is a clone of the Homelander that was created by the Nazis and Vought-American to keep an eye on Homelander to make sure that he did not go insane, and to kill him if he did.
In the second season, Noir is revealed to be the loyal enforcer of Vought CEO Stanford "Stan" Edgar, who directs his every action in combat, including killing the super-terrorist Naqib and tracking down Billy Butcher and the Boys.
Maeve was eventually killed while protecting Starlight from Homelander and Black Noir, though Homelander easily overpowered her after she struck him on the head with her sword, shattering it in the process. He then flung her decapitated head at Starlight as she flew away from The Seven's headquarters.
Series Information
For the Amazon version of the character, see Ryan Butcher. Black Noir's Son is an infant supe conceived after Becky Butcher's rape at the hands of Black Noir (disguised as Homelander) and the reason for Billy Butcher's hatred of supes.
But for the sake of underlining how much went down in the episode, here we go: Homelander (Antony Starr) kills Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell); the Deep (Chace Crawford) kills Robert Singer's (Jim Beaver) VP pick and the slot goes to secret supe Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit); Starlight/Annie (Erin Moriarty) flies with ...
Captain America
In a one on one fight with Black Noir, the Super Soldier will lose because Black Noir can keep up with him very easily. Espionage and assassination are Black Noir's forte. He could take Steve Rogers out when he lets his guard down as well.
In the finale, released on Prime Video on Thursday night, Homelander (Antony Starr) ruthlessly killed Black Noir by shoving his hand through his chest and ripping out his organs. "I don't think we walked into the finale knowing we were gonna do it," Kripke said.
Later, we discover that Black Noir was goaded into attacking Soldier Boy and selling him to the Russians by a young Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito), an event that left Black Noir mutilated and nearly lobotomized.
In season 3 of The Boys, it is revealed that Black Noir was once a superhero named Earving who was a member of the group Payback, Vought's original team that predated The Seven.
While The Seven are a corrupt group of false heroes, they (for the most part) possess at least basic morals. Black Noir is the exception, being an unfeeling and soulless monster. Black noir would kill Batman.
Homelander Kills Noir
It's a sad and shocking way to see this silent yet relatively good (in Boys/Payback terms anyway) character go. And he exhibits no remorse for it at all. He even goes on to admit what he did in front of Ashley, A-Train, and the Deep before essentially disowning them too.
Maeve explains that Black Noir has a tree nut allergy, a simple but genuinely surprising weakness for such a mysterious and seemingly immortal figure.
While there's no definitive answer to how old Black Noir is in The Boys, this scene does offer some hints. If he was in his mid-20s in 1984, then it is likely that he was born sometime during the late 50s to early 60s. However, things may not be that simple.
Soldier Boy told him he “wasn't good enough” and tried to walk away, but when Black Noir laid his hands on him, Soldier Boy lost his temper and savagely battered him in front of the other supes.
The grand finale of The Boys comic book series confirms that there is only one hero who is actually stronger than Homelander, and that's his (even more) evil clone, Black Noir. Created to be an upgraded version of Homelander, Black Noir proves his superiority in the final battle between these two deranged powerhouses.
Without Spoilers, Black Noir should completely obliterate Deadpool. Even going by whats shown in show he destroys The Female who is superhuman.
