Gen Z: Gen Z is the newest generation, born between 1997 and 2012. They are currently between 9 and 24 years old (nearly 68 million in the U.S.)
Generation Z (aka Gen Z, iGen, or centennials), refers to the generation that was born between 1997-2012, following millennials. This generation has been raised on the internet and social media, with some of the oldest finishing college by 2020 and entering the workforce.
That is why the generations today each span 15 years with Generation Y (Millennials) born from 1980 to 1994; Generation Z from 1995 to 2009 and Generation Alpha from 2010 to 2024. So it follows that Generation Beta will be born from 2025 to 2039.
Generation Alpha is the generation following Generation Z and currently includes all children born in or after 2010—the same year the iPad was born. The majority of this demographic is under 13 years of age, but the oldest of them will become teens in 2023.

LOL- Leave out the laughs: According to Gen Z, no one says lol without it being sarcastic any more. “We use 'lmao' even though it isn't very appropriate,” said university student Sheza Saleem. “Lol is a very outdated thing to say.” According to 16-year-old Annie T., certain chat usages also depend on the culture.
This one's pretty straightforward: someone is “mother” if they're an iconic feminine figure, and an act is “mother” if it contributes to that icon status. It's most often used to refer to pop stars, actresses, or other celebrities, but it can be applied in everyday life, too.
They Are Pragmatic and Financially Minded. Financial mindedness is another core characteristic of Generation Z. Many Gen Zers grew up watching their parents take huge financial hits during the Great Recession. Having witnessed their parents' struggles, this generation is driven by pragmatism and security.
What Is Generation Alpha? Generation Alpha includes anyone born between 2010 and now, including up to the year 2024. This means that the oldest members of Gen Alpha are 13 years old. This youngest generation is defined by the digital world.

Gen Z is also the smartest and best educated generation. Having an unlimited wealth of information at our disposal has not gone to waste. In America, 57 percent of Gen Z is reported to have enrolled in a two-year or four-year college, compared to 52 percent of Millenials and 43 percent of Gen X.
Gen Alpha, born between 2010 and 2025, are the first generation born completely within the 21st century. And while Gen Z were our first true digital natives, Gen Alpha will mark a new digital age, given how quickly and exponentially technology advances.
Gen Z workers, aged between 18 and 26, make up about 35% of those wanting to quit, while millennials (aged 27 to 42) are another 31%.
Born in 1995-2010, Generation Z will be 30-45 years old and very influential in the business world by 2040. Gen Z's defining characteristics stem from their identity as “digital natives,” meaning they hardly remember a life before the internet.
The Credit Karma survey, which reached 1,006 adults in March and April, paints a poignant picture of the youngest generation of American adults, born after 1996, and their financial aspirations. Thirty-six percent of Generation Z expects to retire by 50, the survey found. Sixty-six percent expects to retire by 60.
