Severus didn't make any Unbreakable Vow with Dumbledore, he promised to give him a merciful death. The Vow that meant his own death if he failed to fulfill it was made to Narcissa.
An Unbreakable Vow is a magical spell of unknown incantation, in which one witch or wizard makes an oath to another. If either of the two break their terms, they die.
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) undergoes an unbreakable vow with Draco Malfoy's mother, Narcissa Malfoy (played by Peaky Blinders' Helen McCrory) where he promises to protect Draco until the boy kills Dumbledore but will kill Dumbledore himself if he fails.
Snape gets his final revenge on the man who killed the woman he loved Harry duels VD and is killed along with the piece of horcrux inside of him. TL;DR: DD forced Snape to make the Unbreakble Vow to protect Harry but then realized Harry had to die in order for VD to be defeated.
If she had sons, she claimed, she would have been glad to sacrifice them to the Dark Lord's will. Narcissa's love for Draco however, triumphed her fear of Voldemort. She pleaded with Snape – the most unfettered emotion we ever saw her display – to make an Unbreakable Vow with her, thereby ensuring Draco's safety.
He is an exceptionally skilled wizard whose extremely cold and resentful exterior conceals deep emotions and anguish. A Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Snape is hostile to Harry due to his resemblance to his father James Potter, who bullied Snape during their time together at Hogwarts.
It's a word that gained so much more clarity and tragedy after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows revealed that the nefarious Professor Severus Snape was actually serving a nobler cause: protecting Harry from Voldemort out of love for Snape's childhood friend Lily Evans.
Rowling said in a 2007 PotterCast interview, “The Elder Wand knows no loyalty except to strength. So it's completely unsentimental. It will only go where the power is.”
Voldemort Never Figured Out Snape Was A Spy
He openly despised some of his Death Eaters, even the loyal ones like Luscious Malfoy.
I think it says a lot that Snape was willing to make an Unbreakable Vow with Narcissa. Snape loved Lily, and through his actions in the First War he felt an obligation to watch out for Harry.
the 13th and final instance. at least by my count of Severus Snape helping save Harry. is when he shares his memories with him before dying near the end of the Deathly Hallows. these memories not only absolve Snape of his guilt in the death of Dumbledore.
Draco is assigned the task of assassinating Dumbledore by Voldemort, a mission with potentially severe consequences if not completed. Snape's awareness of the potential repercussions for Draco, including punishment or death, adds urgency to his decision to protect him.
Who would have guessed that Snape could love anyone, let alone Harry Potter's mother. He didn't protect Harry because it was the right thing to do; he didn't risk his life by being a spy for Dumbledore because he enjoyed living on the edge; he couldn't even stand Harry, yet Snape died protecting Harry's life.
Now, as firmly established, Snape was not the greatest fan of Harry, but that didn't mean that he ever stopped loving Lily. Dumbledore was surprised that Snape seemed to care for the boy. With a swish of his wand, Snape conjured up a Patronus – Lily's Patronus, a doe. 'Always,' he said.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
12. Snape's Last Words. In the [Deathly Hallows] book, Snape's dying words to Harry were "Look at me". Right then we did not realize the significance of his words but in the very next chapter when Harry goes through Snape's memories in the Pensieve, he comes to know how much Snape loved Lily.
Harry also happened to be Snape's least favorite student.
Professor McGonagall knew that Snape was working with Dumbledore. Everyone in the Order did, which is why Snape was actually let into Order meetings - if they didn't know, they'd likely have tried to not let him it. However, she didn't know that Dumbledore and Snape planned Dumbledore's death.
In order to conjure the avada kedavra curse, you have to want to kill your victim. We all know that Voldemort could easily kill a child without an ounce of remorse... but not Snape. Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and this was why the spell was blue instead of the usual green.
Neville Professor Snape Neville fears Professor Snape who treats him rudely with sarcastic comments. Neville seems afraid of this harsh treatment that makes him feel inferior constantly. Parvati Blood-stained, bandaged mummy Parvati is afraid of something that is scary to her, possibly because it can harm her.
He was cruel to many students, but especially toward Neville Longbottom. It was no fault of Neville's but was instead because of Snape's love for Lily. Neville was almost the Chosen One, and the fact that he wasn't broke Snape's heart to look at him, which caused Snape to lash out cruelly at an innocent child.
Snape also showed some care for his student, as when someone called Hermione a "mudblood", he demanded that the word not be used. Through it all, Hermione seems to care for Severus or at least show him empathy - as she was shocked and cried when he died - despite not knowing at that moment that he was on their side.
