وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ وَلَا يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا خَسَارًا And when I am ill, it is [God] who cures me.”
Say, 'For those who believe, it is guidance and cure. ' The Prophet said, 'whoever from amongst you becomes unwell or a brother of his becomes unwell he should say the following, the unwell person will be cured.
Verses of the Quran which is a healing physical ailments can be proved by the words of Allah: “Verily, there has come to you from your Lord and a healing for the diseases (that are) in the chest and guidance and mercy for people who believe.” (Surah Yunus, verse 57) Every disease has a verse of the Quran that custom.
Surah Al Fatiha, the opening surah is recommended for bodily and psychological healing.
There is one particular Ayah in particular that Prophet Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasallam spoke of, that is said to give its reader great benefits in this life and the afterlife – Ayatul Kursi (Surat Al-Baqarah 2:255), also known as the Verse of the Throne.
Duas for Shifaa in the Sunnah:
Take away the hardship, O Lord of mankind, give shifaa, You are the One who cures, there is no shifaa except Your shifaa, a cure that will not leave any sickness. I seek refuge with Allah and with His Power from the evil that afflicts me and that which I apprehend.
Like every other test we face in life, illnesses can be a source of blessings: they cleanse your sins, result in huge rewards, and increase your ranks. Illnesses cause you to become humble, realise your weakness and express your need and servitude to Allah — all of which is the essence of ʿubūdiyyah (servitude).
'As'alu Allah al 'azim rabbil 'arshil azim an yashifika. I ask Allah, the Mighty, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to cure you. (Recommended to repeat seven times.)
"O Lord of the people, remove this pain and cure it, You are the one who cures and there is no one besides You who can cure, grant such a cure that no illness remains".
Dua for protection from illness and disease
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, insanity, elephantiasis, and the worst of diseases."
While the entire Quran is a source of healing, there are six verses that address healing and are referred to as Ayat Ash-Shifa or the Quranic Verses of Healing.
The Quran is Shifa and Mercy for Believers
Specifically, surah Fatiha, which is also known as al-Shifa (healing), can be recited if one is sick. Narrations state that if you recite surah Fatiha to a sick person, God willing he will be cured.
To Heal A Friend
Think, O' God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard. that no healing is too hard if it be Your will. We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his/her strength, and heal what ails him/her in Your loving name.
The verse eighty two of Qur'an 17 is known as the Verse of Healing or al-Shifa' Verse, which indicates that the Qur'an can heal diseases. Shiite and Sunni scholars believe that all Qur'anic verses are healing, and so this feature is not restricted to al-Shifa' Verse.
Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet used to treat some of his wives by passing his right hand over the place of ailment and used to say, "O Allah, the Lord of the people! Remove the trouble and heal the patient, for You are the Healer. No healing is of any avail but Yours; healing that will leave behind no ailment."
Al-Qahhar
Furthermore, it is also mentioned that whoever seeks to receive help from Allah ﷺ in order to stand triumphant against their enemies (or against those who seek to oppress), need only to recite 'Ya Qahhaar' 306 times (or more) a day.
"And when I am ill, it is He who cures me" Quran 26:80. May Allah (The One who cures) cure him and grant him speedy recovery. May He bring him back to his family and loved ones fully recovered and without any trace of any illness. May Allah Grant him shifa and may the sickness be an expiation to his shortcomings.
Ḥasbiya Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa-huwa rabbu al-ʿarshi al-ʿaẓīm. This supplication appears in the Qur'an. Allah, the Almighty, says, If they turn away, say, “Allah is enough for me. There is no true god but Him, in Him I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
It is recommended that the visitor pray for the recovery and health of the patient and that he should urge him to endure his trouble patiently. He should say nice words to cheer him up and keep his spirits high. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "When you visit a sick person, give him hope for a long life.
The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: 'Surah al-Fatihah is a medicine for every illness. ' One of the names of this Surah is 'Shafiyah,' and another name is 'Surah al-Shifa,' for it is a cure for every illness. '
The best gift from God is good health. Everyone should reach that goal by preserving it for now and in the future. (Saying of the Prophet Muhammad on health). In few areas did science, community benefit and religious duty come so closely and productively together in early Islam as they did in medicine.
Verily Allah does not change a people's condition unless they change their inner selves. And when Allah decides to make a people suffer punishment, no one can avert it. Nor can any be of help to such a people against Allah. For him are angels ranged before him and behind him, who guard him by Allah's command.
Al-Shaafi (The Healer): Millions of people around the world have fallen ill due to the virus, and many have passed away. There are people teetering on the edge of life and death in the ICUs. But, we have to remember that Allah SWT is The Healer. Allah SWT can heal with or without medicine.
"ALLAHUMMA INNI AS' ALUKA AL'AFIYAH" Meaning: "O Allah, I ask you for Afiyah."
