When you ignore a conversation, the person won't know. From Chats, tap on the conversation you want to ignore. At the top, tap the person's name. Tap Ignore Messages, then Ignore.
When you ignore a conversation, the person won't be notified. To ignore a conversation in Facebook Messenger checks below the step-by-step guide for users.
To find out if someone has blocked you on Messenger, you should first send them a message. If your message is not delivered, even after the recipient has been online, you're most likely blocked. To tell if your message isn't delivered, it will have an empty circle with a check mark for an icon.
How to know if someone blocked or restricted you on Messenger? A blocked person's message won't get delivered, so they see an empty circle with a checkmark. In contrast, a restricted person may see a filled circle with a checkmark that indicates the message has been delivered but won't get the read receipt.
They can still call you on Messenger provided they are still your friend. You didn't get notified because you choose to be on mute or ignore all their messages. If you do not want any form of contact with them through Messenger or Facebook then you have to unfriend them.
“The sign that your calls are ignored is how many rings until it goes to voicemail. Usually, the feedback ringtone will go through a few cycles till the voicemail message comes up,” says Ben Hartwig, web operations executive at InfoTracer.
When you restrict someone on Messenger, you won't receive any notifications when the person sends a message. Your phone won't even ring when the recipient calls you on Messenger. You can't send a message or call the person either. You must unrestrict the person before sending a message (more on that later).
If you see only Public posts, that's one of the first signs that the person has restricted you. Next, go to the About section of their profile. If you can see only Public information on their About page as well, it's another signal that they have restricted you.
If you can still see this person's profile photo and name at the top of the chat, the user has not deactivated or deleted their account—you could still be blocked. But if their profile photo is now a gray outline of a person instead of their old photo, they've likely deactivated their account, not blocked you.
If you send a message to someone and the message is not delivered, meaning that only an unfilled check mark icon appears, it generally means one of two things: The user has not logged into Facebook. The user has blocked you on Messenger.

The blue circle with the check next to your message means that your message was sent. A filled-in blue circle next to your message means that your message was delivered. And, when a friend has read your message, a small version of your friend's photo will appear next to your message.
It literally means they are in another call. They are using the phone or video function on messenger with another person. This will only pop up in that instance. If they are using their cell phone to call, not in the app, the messenger tone will still ring through.
They will not know that they're on your restricted list. You will still be able to chat with them via Messenger and you'll see their posts in your News Feed as normal. Let's say you don't want your supervisor to see everything you post on Facebook, so you add him to your restricted list.
Facebook Messenger allows users to mute individual conversations temporarily, or even indefinitely. When a user mutes a conversation, they won't be notified when they receive new messages. When you mute a person, you need to select the time manually for which you want to mute a thread.
If you want to hide the last seen to one person only, you should use Ignore option. By doing that, neither the other person will be able to see your last seen nor will you be able to see it. However, you can still check everyone else's last active status, and they can check yours.
If you don't see next to a person's name, it means they have turned off their Active Status feature in their settings. When your Active Status is turned on, you'll appear active or recently active time on this profile.
It is easier to ignore you than take an action. The person may enjoy getting the texts because they prove he or she is still wanted and, therefore, in their mind in a superior position to you. This enhances their self-esteem.
When you ignored a chat in Messenger, the conversation moves to the Spam folder. Select the conversation. Now that the conversation is open, you can easily reply.
Research finds that feeling ignored can affect people's sensory perceptions, such as feeling that surroundings seem quieter. Being ignored creates feelings of self-doubt, feeling a lack of control, and feeling not worthy of attention.
