For moderate to severe marionette lines, dermal fillers can be injected into the corner of the jaw. This pulls away, or lateralizes, the fullness around the mouth resulting from fatty atrophy. As a result, the folds around the corners of the mouth are pulled away from the corner of the mouth.
Juvéderm® is recommended for the patient who have shallow marionette lines, but for patients with very deep marionette lines, Radiesse® is recommended as a base and often Juvéderm® as a pillow-top technique.
Dermal fillers are applied to the marionette lines and the corners of the mouth. This hides the shadow between the 2 areas creating a flatter shape. This smoothens out the marionette lines and reduces the appearance of the jowls.

That said, these injectable treatments take some time to integrate into your tissues, and it's normal for your dermal filler to take up to two weeks to fully settle into your face.

Dо Marionette Lines Filler Treatments Hurt? The injection of the anti-wrinkle dermal filler is not painful. A topical anaesthetic is applied before the treatment to minimise any discomfort. You may feel some pressure during the injections but no pain.
Treating lines around the mouth such as laugh lines or marionette lines typically requires one to two syringes on each side for full correction. If your purpose is to hide marionette lines, dab your liquid concealer into the area around your mouth using a concealer brush or your finger until it has completely absorbed. Lastly, apply a setting powder all around your face using a large makeup brush.
