Meanwhile, R2-D2's cameo in
Obi-Wan never technically owned R2-D2 or any droid in the prequels. R2 belonged to Padmé Amidala before she gifted him to Anakin Skywalker, and after the war, both R2 and C-3PO became the property of Bail Organa. Obi-Wan knew him, but never owned him.
In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, set approximately 30 years after Return of the Jedi, R2-D2 is revealed to be kept in storage at the Resistance base on the planet D'Qar, having put himself in a low-power mode after Luke Skywalker's disappearance.
Writing. Various story elements in the episode were conceived by Stuart Beattie and Hossein Amini when they were developing the film. A new planet, Daiyu, is introduced in the episode.
After the actions of Palpatine taking over, and Order 66, it is highly probable that when Padme Amidala was giving birth Obi-wan took R2-D2 and C-3PO with them to the lets call it hospital. From there he handed them to the rebels. From there you know the story since they appear in Episode 4 A new Hope.
R2-D2 was present when Padmé gave birth to Leia and Luke, so he knew Luke was Anakin's son – but what he didn't know was that Anakin became Darth Vader. In addition to that, Anakin's fall was surely a painful event in R2-D2's life, one that he definitely wouldn't like to remember or even talk about.
C-3PO's photoreceptors turned red while he translated the Sith writings on the dagger. After completing the translation C-3PO rebooted, and his memory was wiped in the process, leaving him to restart with his basic factory programming.
Kumail Nanjiani's Haja Estree poses as a Jedi in the Disney+ series, but the unscrupulous character is more important to Star Wars than you think. Warning! Spoilers ahead for Obi-Wan: Kenobi.
Kumail Nanjiani, who plays fake Jedi con-man Haja Estree in Obi-Wan Kenobi, shares his reaction to becoming part of the growing Star Wars universe. Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Kumail Nanjiani shares a priceless reaction to his Star Wars debut on Twitter.
In Obi-Wan Kenobi, Coruscant makes its first extensive live-action appearance in the Star Wars saga since the prequel trilogy.
Such cycles of fate no longer surprised the nine-hundred-year-old Jedi. So there you have it. Yoda and R2D2 knew each other and the galaxy is even a smaller world than we think.
R2D2 is introduced in Queen Amidala's escape from Naboo. As such, R2D2 appears to be the state property of Naboo. Queen Amidala as the head of state exercised her control over R2D2. The Droid continued his service to Amidala while she was a Senator.
Save this answer. Show activity on this post. Within the established Disney/Lucasfilm canon (the six theatrical movies, Clone Wars TV series, Clone Wars film and Star Wars : Rebels TV Series) Darth never spoke with R2D2 again, although they did briefly interact in 'A New Hope'.
Further in Empire Strikes Back, neither Yoda nor Darth Vader recognizes either droid. Luke travels with R2-D2 to the Dagobah where they find Yoda. Yoda's relationship with R2-D2 is not on the same level with the same characters. Perhaps, the old creature simply forgot.
Anakin ultimately fulfilled his role as the Chosen One and brought balance to the Force, fulfilling Qui-Gon Jinn's belief in the prophecy that foretold Anakin's destiny. Accepting his fate, Anakin joined his Jedi mentors in death by becoming one with the Force.
The real answer is: When the original trilogy was written and filmed, Anakin Skywalker was not the creator of C3PO. There was no consideration given to who Vader would recognize, because there was no reason for Vader to recognize the droid, at all.
In the material around the film from the Legends timeline, it's established that by the end of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Kenobi was one of the characters who knew Anakin's Sith name was Darth Vader.
Unlike most of Revenge of the Sith's Jedi casualties, Star Wars never showed Mace's body, which means that a chance exists for him to have survived in some way. Although it didn't happen in Obi-Wan Kenobi as some fans hoped, Mace Windu could potentially turn up alive at some point in the future.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
In the final episode "Part VI", Obi-Wan finds his inner peace after confronting Darth Vader, and Qui-Gon's Force Ghost finally appears to him. Qui-Gon tells his former apprentice that he had always been there, but that his grief had made him unable to see him.
Anakin Skywalker, in one last digged-effort, before his imprisonment as Darth Vader for the next 23 years, cries out for help. He yearns for his beloved Padme, with the words, “Padme, help me.”
Eking out a living on a chaotic world, Haja Estree is not without scruples. Although he is a master of illusion, a con-man posing as a Jedi to assist fugitives -- for a price -- despite his lies, in his heart he genuinely wants to help.
The camera pans across and reveals the face of a disheveled clone, played by none other than Temuera Morrison. The clone then asks Kenobi for help getting a warm meal.
Threepio was also there when Luke and Leia Amidala Skywalker were born. They were later left under the care of a Captain Antilles. In order to protect Luke and Leia from their father, Darth Vader, Bail had C-3PO's memory erased, causing Threepio to forget everything from his past life.
Remember that this is the first (and only) time Vader saw C3PO after RoTS. Threepio was getting pushed into an escape pod by R2D2 by the time Vader entered their ship in ANH. Though he was chased throughout the original series, this was the only time Vader actually saw Threepio, again.
