Black is the strongest of the neutral colors. On the positive side, it's commonly associated with power, elegance, and formality. On the negative side, it can be associated with evil, death, and mystery.
Red: Excitement, energy, passion, love, desire, speed, strength, power, heat, aggression, danger, fire, blood, war, violence, all things intense and passionate.

The best power colors for suits are navy blue and charcoal gray. The darker the color, the higher the authority. When in doubt go for navy blue, it's the universal power color for a suit.
