If C cups are the midpoint or medium breast size indicator on the cup size scale, then D cups mark the transition towards larger breasts and DD cups are the exact opposite of A cups.
That number represents your cup size. For less than one inch you are a AA cup, for one inch you are an A cup, for two inches you are a B cup, for three inches you are C cup, for four inches you are a D cup and for five inches you are a DD cup.
For example, a 38C means a chest measurement of 38 inches and a breast measurement of 41 inches. The difference between the two measurements is 3 inches which is a C cup. If there's a 1-inch difference between bust and band you're an A cup; 2-inch difference is a B cup, 3 inches is a C cup, 4 inches is a D cup, and so on. For example, if your bust measurement is 37 inches and your band is 33 inches, you would be a D cup because of the 4-inch difference.
In the United States cup sizes range from A to N. The cup sizes get larger as the letters go up in the alphabet. Size D is bigger than A, and H is bigger than D. Sizes are as follows: AAA, AA, A, B, C, D, DD, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, and N.

When people talk about breast size, they often describe it in terms of bra size. The average bra size in the United States is 34DD. This figure can vary by country. In the U.K., for example, the average is 36DD.
While it's really difficult to precisely determine the standard breast size in the U.S. (or anywhere in the world, for that matter), wedo know that the average breast size in America is a 34DD.
Generally, the A cup is considered the smallest available but for some this is still too big and compensating with a smaller band size won't help. If you want something that's going to fit your form you'll have to go down a level to an AA or even AAA cup.

There is no “normal“ breast size. Believe it or not the average bra cup size in the United States is DD, which has been skewed to the higher side mainly due to obesity. A large survey several years ago showed that most women prefer a C cup size.

When our participants were asked what their ideal breast size would be, the C cup was considered the most popular, with 39% choosing it above other sizes. In second place, was the D cup, which was the first choice of 29% of people who completed our survey.
Generally, a 32C is considered a medium/average size. C cups are very common, while a 32 inch ribcage measurement is on the smaller side.

Is C Cup Big or Small? Contrary to popular belief, a C cup is not a large size. It is the most common size among women who have breast augmentation or breast implants. Having a larger chest isn't ideal for women since it can affect their posture and cause shoulder and back pain.
C cups and D cups differ in circumference by an inch. A C cup has a 3-inch difference between the bust and band size while a D cup has a 4-inch difference. C cups will weigh a few pounds less than D cups.

It really is that simple. It's all in the cup. To maintain the same cup volume the cup sizing gets smaller as the band size increases and vice versa. A 10DD, 12D & 14C all have the same cup volume even though the letters differ.
