When broken down by gender, men ranked gray, blue, and green eyes as the most attractive, while women said they were most attracted to green, hazel, and gray eyes. Despite brown eyes ranking at the bottom of our perceived attraction scale, approximately 79% of the world's population sports melanin-rich brown eyes.

Hazel eyes have also been voted as one of the most attractive eye colours and can, therefore, be argued to have the best of both worlds, health and beauty. The answer is yes, “women” like brown eyes on men. Since brown eyes are pretty much the most common color, I guess more men with brown eyes are “liked by women”. Results found that blue was the most attractive eye color in males, garnering 47 out of 173 total matches—or 27.17 percent. The next most popular color was brown, with 21.97 percent of votes, followed by green with 16.76 percent, hazel with 15.03 percent, and black with 10.98 percent.
Blue and green are the colors that are most pleasing to the eye. These calming shades allow the eye to rest and are not overstimulating (unless used in neon hues), pleasing the eye and instantly relaxing our bodies and minds.
Blue eyes are crowned the sexiest among men and women
From dark brown to hazel, brown eyes in various shades also dominate our research, with 49.33% of females and 55.33% of males in the research having a shade of brown eyes.

However, the conditional distribution of eye color is different for the Blue and Green eye colors, with differences of around six percentage points. A larger percentage of Males report Blue eyes (39.06% to 33.42%) and a larger percentage of Females report Green eyes (17.89% to 11.97%).
Blue Eyes are More Sensitive to Light

We found that green is the most popular lens colour, with brown coming in a close second, despite it being one of the most common eye colours. Although blue and hazel are seen as the most attractive eye colours for men and women they are surprisingly the least popular.
When it comes to the most preferred colors, blue is mentioned in all 15 studies, red in 10 of them, and green in 5. As for the least preferred colors, yellow is mentioned in eight studies, while orange and green-yellow are mentioned in five studies each.
In the daylight, the most visible color is a wavelength of 550nm; a color between green and yellow. Our eyes catch red, orange, and yellow the fastest.
