So becoming male is due to the dominant gene
Genetically, you actually carry more of your mother's genes than your father's. That's because of little organelles that live within your cells, the mitochondria, which you only receive from your mother.
In order for a person to show the dominant trait, one of the person's parents must have the dominant trait (which is an uppercase letter). Remember that human cells carry 2 copies of each chromosome, one from the biological mother's genes and one from the biological father's genes.
X-linked dominant inheritance is a way a genetic trait or condition can be passed down from parent to child through mutations (changes) in a gene on a single X chromosome. In females (who have two X chromosomes), a mutation in a gene on one of the X chromosomes is enough to cause the condition.
