Surtsey on November 30, 1963, 16 days after the beginning of the eruption. A volcanic eruption which took place off the southern coast of Iceland on October 14, 1963 led to the formation of the island of Surtsey.
Surtsey is known as the Earth's youngest island. In fact, Surtsey is a volcanic island that was formed following an undersea eruption 130 meters (426 feet) deep. Icelandic fishermen first noticed the undersea eruption on November 14th, 1963.
Hawaiʻi island (the Big Island) is the biggest and youngest island in the chain, built from five volcanoes. Mauna Loa, taking up over half of the Big Island, is the largest shield volcano on the Earth.

According to Britannica, an island is a mass of land that is both “entirely surrounded by water” and also “smaller than a continent.” By that definition, Australia can't be an island because it's already a continent.
Australia hasn't always been an island. The world today is a very different place to what it was in prehistoric times. As far back as 1400 million years there was only the one great super-continent, Pangea, and one ocean!
