Silver-Maned Lynels have 5000 HP, making them even more tough than White-Maned Lynels.
Lynels are among the most difficult enemies you'll encounter in Hyrule, and Silver Lynels are the most powerful variety.
Golden Lynels are found exclusively in Master Mode, and have more health than their silver counterparts (7500 HP).
Silver Lynel - This Lynel is almost all white and silver. It has 6,000 HP, but drops all gem types (except Luminous Stone) along with the usual remains of a Lynel (hooves, horns, guts).
Standard Red-Maned Lynels have 2000 HP, making them tougher than Moldugas (1500 HP), Stone Taluses (900 HP max), and Black Hinoxes (800 HP).
Their ability to breathe fire makes White-Maned Lynels among the toughest of the species; each one of their attacks is an invitation to the grave.
1 Gold-Maned Lynels
Gold-Maned Lynels are the strongest non-boss enemies in Breath of the Wild. They only spawn in Hyrule during a playthrough in Master Mode, which is only available if players have bought The Master Trials DLC Pack and have beaten the base game.

Blue-Maned Lynels have 3000 HP. There are seven of these Lynels in the base game. This Lynel can shoot fireballs from its mouth. These may look pretty menacing but they are actually very easy to dodge; in fact you can just run (no need to sprint) to the left or right and you won't get hit.

The "weakest" of the bunch, the Red-Maned Lynel should be the first port of call for anyone considering the challenge of facing these beasts. Here are several locations we have found where you can find and fight a Red-Maned Lynel.
There are 23 Lynels in Breath of the Wild, and they scale up in difficulty as you defeat monsters. When you've defeated enough other enemies, 19 of the 23 Lynels will become Gold in Master Mode.
Lynel become easier with technique, hearts and armor and the divine beasts were designed to beat before you go exploring too much and fight lynels. In my opinion getting the rewards from divine beasts helps you combat lynels more effectively.
For a Lynel, it's main weak spot is in the face, and hitting one with an arrow at the right time will stun it for a few seconds, similarly to Hinox and Stallnox, though for less time.
Luckily the beast bears the same attacks as its lighter counterparts. Then there's Silver Lynel, the hardest enemy in the game.
The Savage Lynel Crusher is one such weapon that can absolutely decimate enemies with a base attack power of 78. While the act of getting this weapon is a challenge in itself, there's no denying the fact that the Savage Lynel Crusher is easily one of the strongest weapons in BotW.
The easiest and most effective way to defeat a Lynel is to use an ancient arrow, these arrows can be found in different chests across Hyrule, or you can craft a dozen at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab.
But as for Lynel Hoof, it is guaranteed to drop when killing any of the following Lynels: Red Maned Lynel. Blue Maned Lynel. White Maned Lynel.
Using Ice Arrows or stasis will freeze the Lynel temporarily. If you get close enough, you mount it and deal additional damage!
Update: It is impossible sadly...
Every kind of Lynel from red to golden are completely immune to all elemental types. That includes the additional damage and the effect an element would normally inflict.
Lynel Hoofs can be obtained by defeating Lynels of all types found scattered across the overworld. They can be used to enhance various pieces of armor in the game, for example the Barbarian Armor.
The Golden Lynel can be found in the Tarm Ruins during Winter after Link has spoken to the Old Man. The Golden Lynel takes more hits to kill than a standard Lynel, though if Link is capable of slaying it alongside the three other Golden Monsters, the Old Man will gift Link the offense-boosting Red Ring.
Mighty Lynel Crushers are the second most powerful weapon type in the Lynel Crusher line. They have a base power of 54 and can be obtained by defeating some of the various Blue-Maned Lynels scattered in the overworld.
In Master Mode, Lynel Crushers are wielded by Blue-Maned Lynels. Though they are more of a lump of metal, they can be lethal in the hands of a Lynel. They belong to the Lynel Gear equipment archetype, which includes all Weapons created by Lynels.
