Jacob, Joseph's father, adopted Joseph's two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, to share in Jacob's inheritance equally with Jacob's own sons (Genesis 48:5). Manasseh is counted as the father of the Israelite Tribe of Manasseh, one of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Prophet Yaqub (pbuh) was born in Palestine, and was the son of Prophet Ishaq (pbuh). He is known for leading his life in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, spreading the message of the Oneness of God, and advising followers to pray and give in charity.
But we learn from the life of Prophet Yaqub (alai) that even prophets went through the same pain and they grieved for their beloved. When Yaqub (alai) lost his son Yusuf (alai), he was so sad that he grieved for many years. He cried so much that he even went blind.
Yaqub heard that his son, Bunyamin, was retained in Egypt, he started to remember Hz. Yusuf and felt sorry. Due to the severity of his sorrow, he became blind due to cataract.
Prophet Yusuf was someone who recognised his own strengths and weaknesses. Being aware of his own weaknesses, he went to prison rather than be potentially seduced by his master's wife Zulaikha. By also being aware of his own strengths, such as his knowledge of certain matters, he made a bid to be appointed by the King.
Joseph was known, in addition to being very handsome, to be of gentle temperament. He was respectful, kind, and considerate.
Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.” Thus, Allah reunited father and son. Lesson: Prophet Yusuf from his dream knew he was destined for greatness but it seemed at every turn of his life he was met with difficulties and adversity. He was betrayed by his brothers, sold as slave, and unjustly imprisoned.
Abdullah Ibn Umm-Maktum was the son of Qays Ibn Zayd and Aatikah Bint Abdullah. He was blind by birth and hence his mother was called Umm-Maktum (Mother of the concealed one). Ibn Umm-Maktum was a cousin of Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, Muhammad's first wife.
Prophet Ishaq (p.b.u.h) asked his people to follow the path of Allah (s.w.t) at Kannan. As he grew old, he became blind and settled his son Jacob in Hebron, Palestine. At the age of 180 years, Prophet Ishaq (p.b.u.h) died and was buried next to his father, Ibrahim (p.b.u.h).
When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah's head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die, and said, "It would be better for me to die than to live." But God said to Jonah, "Do you have a right to be angry about the vine?" "I do," he said. "I am angry enough to die."
His Marriage and Offspring
The Prophet Ya'qub (PBUH) had four wives and twelve sons who became the progenitors of twelve tribes. The Prophet Yusuf (PBUH) and Benjamin were from Rachel. The Prophet Ya'qub (PBUH) had great affection for them.

After a few years Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) suffered from skin disease. His parts of body were covered with loathsome sores. He had many ugly looking ulcers on his face and hands. The sores were full of worms.

He remained dead for one hundred years. After the one hundred years had passed and there had been changes in Israelite affairs, Allah sent an angel upon Ezra to revive his heart and his eyes in order for him to feel and see how Allah revives the dead.
