Aside from humans, lions are the only predators powerful enough to kill an elephant. The males, being 50% heavier than the females, are especially suited to the task. It typically takes seven lionesses to kill an elephant, but just two males could do the same. Even a single male can overpower a young elephant.
By Press Trust of India: Tigers have been found to be killing elephants, mainly young ones, in the famed Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand and in a few cases eating them too, according to an official study.
Predators. Carnivores (meat eaters) such as lions, hyenas, and crocodiles may prey upon young, sick, orphaned, or injured elephants. Humans are the greatest threat to all elephant populations.
The elephant is the largest land mammal, a characteristic that ensures a pride will need all lions on deck to have a chance of bringing one down with claws and teeth. It's no surprise that these animals can kill a lion.
An unarmed human could not win a fight against an elephant.
Simply put, the elephant is too large and powerful for a human to harm without a weapon. If the elephant regards the person as a threat, it will charge, gore, and stomp on the person until they're dead.

Yet, the elephant will knock the tiger over or run it through at some point. Tigers are not agile enough to avoid an elephant forever. All it takes is a piece of the tiger's body to get caught under the elephant's weight and the fight is over. The tiger will be crushed or stabbed to death.
In an elephant vs hippo fight, the elephant is going to win. Assuming both creatures are fully grown adults, the elephant is just too big for the hippo to handle. Hippos are too smart to pick a fight with an elephant, so they have no idea what it takes to bring one down.
Elephant
In brute strength, elephants are the strongest mammals and the strongest land animals. African elephants can weigh up to 6,350kg and they can carry up to 9,000kg, the weight of 130 adult humans.
An elephant weighs about six tons and is 12 feet tall, while the rhino weighs two tons and is six feet tall. On the other hand, it is also twice as fast as an elephant and is able to strike with its horn, which is sharp enough to penetrate an elephant's thick, tough skin and deliver a blow serious enough to kill it.
Elephants are afraid of bees. Let that sink in for a second. The largest animal on land is so terrified of a tiny insect that it will flap its ears, stir up dust and make noises when it hears the buzz of a beehive. Of course a bee's stinger can't penetrate the thick hide of an elephant.
Lion will usually avoid adult elephant, and attack youngsters only if they have become separated from the herd. However, some prides have learned how to take down full-grown adults under dire circumstances when other food sources are scarce.
The bear might inflict a few gashes or bites against the elephant, but that is not enough to kill it. Polar bears do not even have the benefit of a large pack to bring down an elephant, either. Just about everything an elephant would do to attack a polar bear would be fatal, either by goring or stomping it to death.
A black mamba bite is sufficient in toxicity and volume to kill an adult elephant. Nairobi beetles are about 15 times more toxic than a cobra.
Elephants, especially bears, are among the large animals that tigers are terrified of. To escape from them, tigers frequently climb trees. A crocodile's razor-sharp jaw might even kill a tiger.
The absolute unbeatable beast who took home the title for best fighter: the elephant. With a 74% win rate, it just eked out a win over the rhinoceros, who also received a 74% win rate. (Just a few extra tenths of a percent gave the elephant the top spot.)
Too Weak to Support Its Own Body Weight: The Jellyfish
Crystal jellies Aequorea victoria, are a bioluminescent hydrozoan jellyfish, or hydromedusa, that is found off the west coast of North America. Almost every living creature on the planet has at least the strength to support its own body and move around.
This size helps the rhinoceros beetle claim the position of the second strongest insect, and the second strongest animal in the world when measuring strength related to body weight. Rhinoceros beetles can lift around 850 times their own weight, an incredible achievement.
An elephant would win in a fight against a gorilla. Gorillas are certainly powerful and smart animals, but they lack any definitive means of killing an elephant. Unless they happened upon an elephant lying down and managed to inflict severe bites to them, a gorilla simply would not stand a chance.
The two species most often reported to prey upon rhinos – usually young ones – are lions in Africa and tigers in Asia. However, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs and Nile crocodiles are also known to kill African rhino calves on occasion. By far, though, people are rhinos' #1 enemy.
A hippo would win a fight against a crocodile. Although crocodiles are large, powerful creatures, they cannot kill a fully grown hippo. Hippos are large, roundish animals that are much taller than crocodiles. The only place they would be vulnerable to attack is their legs.
Crocodiles are opportunistic hunters and have been known to prey on baby elephants.
An elephant would win in an elephant vs lion fight. A single lion does not pose much of a threat to a fully grown elephant. The elephant is simply too large for the lion to handle. The only way it could win a fight is if it managed to bite and claw the elephant all over and make it bleed to death.
In most lion vs elephant interactions the lions, even if there are a number of them, will show a healthy level of respect for even a loan elephant.
