Gideon's program wasn't just about creating a Palpatine clone. It was also vital to making the Emperor's proxy. A clone body is very different from creating new life from scratch, though. So how did
The novelization for The Rise of Skywalker confirmed that Palpatine was indeed a clone; but unlike the Clone Troopers of the prequel era, his original soul was possessing a crude body. While the solution was far from ideal for the Sith Lord, it was the best he came up with in his weakened state.
When Palpatine died, his consciousness was transferred to a clone on the planet Exegol, where he had been previously studying immortality. However, the body was too weak to hold his consciousness. So they built more clones that could be a strong vessel for him.
In the film, we learned that Rey was a Palpatine, and her father was a clone of the infamous Sith Lord. However, it did raise the question of why would Palpatine let one of his clones escape especially since he was later revealed to be a failed clone.
Pershing was overseeing the Imperial officer's own secret cloning endeavor. Gideon's project independent of the Shadow Council's “Project Necromancer,” which was about building the dead Palpatine a clone body.
Snoke was one of the disfigured clones, which means he probably didn't have any Gideon DNA mixed in.
After the Night of a Thousand Tears, the Empire desecrated Mandalore and Bo-Katan surrendered the Darksaber to Moff Gideon, hoping that the Empire will stop the Great Purge of Mandalore.
In The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, art director Rick Carter expressed his opinion that Rey was the one who fulfilled the prophecy rather than Anakin, stating that while that one would be a Skywalker, it didn't necessarily need to be one by blood.
At the end of Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, we see that Rey has finally constructed her own lightsaber, having reached the end of a long journey and completed training with both Lukeand Leia.
But if Palpatine essentially fathered Anakin through the Force, the Emperor would be the great-grandfather of Kylo Ren and the grandfather of Rey, making the pair first cousins once removed.
Snoke and his many copies were not a clone of any known individual the way the Clone Army soldiers were modified copies of Jango Fett. Nor was he a one-for-one recreation of a previous body like Palpatine's clone body. Snoke was an entirely new being made from scratch, and Dr.
In the context of the story, Snoke is a "genetic strandcast" created by Emperor Palpatine to serve as his proxy in power.
Interesting enough, the strand-casts are still able to exercise their own free will. Since Snoke was engineered through this strand-casting process, this tells us that Grogu's DNA was used to create Snoke, if Grogu's DNA was used to develop Force-sensitive clones.
Snoke Was a Strand-Cast Created by Palpatine
Although Snoke was bio-engineered in a lab on Exegol, he was a strand-cast, not a clone. This bit of Star Wars jargon means Snoke isn't an exact copy of anyone, but isn't natural-born either.
"Snoke" was the identity adopted by an artificial strandcast created in the dark science laboratory on the planet Exegol by the loyalists of the Sith Eternal cult, at the behest of Dark Lord of the Sith and Galactic Emperor Darth Sidious, during their cloning experiments during the reign of the Galactic Empire, by 12 ...
In The Rise of Skywalker's novelization, written by Rae Carson, it's revealed that Rey's father is a failed Palpatine clone. He was initially created as a vessel to house the Sith Lord but proved incapable of doing so.
Following Palpatine's final defeat and her own resurrection, Rey adopts the name Rey Skywalker to honor her mentors and their family legacy and renounce her lineage. As the last remaining Jedi, she makes it her mission to rebuild the Jedi Order.
He gave it to Luke Skywalker, who lost it when Darth Vader struck off his son's hand in Cloud City. The lightsaber then became part of Maz Kanata's collection of Jedi curios, where it called to the scavenger Rey.
The final installment of the Skywalker Saga declares that Rey is actually the granddaughter of Sheev Palpatine, the senator-slash-secret-Sith-Lord best known as the Emperor (played once again by Ian McDiarmid).
At the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey visited Luke's childhood home on Tatooine. While on the planet, when someone asked her who she was, Rey responded by saying that she was "Rey Skywalker." Although she wasn't related to them, both Luke and Leia had been mentors to Rey throughout the sequel trilogy.
Rey was almost revealed as a Kenobi in Star Wars, an idea that would have radically changed the entire sequel trilogy. Although Rey ended up being Palpatine's granddaughter, director J.J. Abrams also considered making her a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi, a popular fan theory since the beginning of the sequel trilogy.
While Palpatine miraculously returns in Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker, Anakin is still widely considered the Chosen One for bringing balance to the force by originally bringing down the Empire.
He has the darksaber
Din is in possession of the Darksaber, the weapon forged by the first and only Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Vizsla. Tarre Vizsla is the only known force sensitive Mandalorian, and of course, plenty of people think Grogu is the next.
The darksaber does have a kyber crystal just like all other lightsabers do! The crystal is the heart of the saber, giving it not just its color but its energy as well. Kyber crystals are unique, and for the Jedi, the crystal chooses its owner.
Moff Gideon
Between the conclusion of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the fall of the Empire, the Darksaber transferred from Bo-Katan Kryze to Gideon. Gideon is the leader of the Imperial remnant forces in The Mandalorian.
