At the end of their fated duel on Tatooine, a dying Maul asks Obi-Wan Kenobi if the person he protects – Luke – is the Chosen One.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Maul, speaking about the Chosen One. The Chosen One is a legendary figure of Jedi prophecy foretold as being one who would destroy the Sith Order once and for all and bring balance to The Force.
After Kenobi deals the killing blow, Maul asks him if this person is the “Chosen One”, the one that will destroy their common enemy in Palpatine. Obi-Wan assents as Maul whispers that this Chosen One will avenge them with his final breath.

Turns Out Yoda Didn't Believe Luke Skywalker Was the 'Chosen One' It's no wonder Yoda spent so much time being difficult and throwing Luke Skywalker's things around on Dagobah during Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back — he was expecting the other twin.
At the end of their fated duel on Tatooine, a dying Maul asks Obi-Wan Kenobi if the person he protects – Luke – is the Chosen One. And Obi-Wan answers, “Yes.” Is Obi-Wan's answer to Maul a confirmation that the Chosen One is, in fact, Luke and not his father?
Even in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, after Anakin gets denied Jedi training, Qui-Gon says, "He is the Chosen One, you must see it," right in front of the young boy. That means Anakin was well aware of his status and everything that came with it.
Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn met Anakin while he was a slave on the desert planet Tatooine. Qui-Gon got to know Anakin and his mother, Shmi. He discovered that Anakin had no father and had the highest midi-chlorian count ever recorded. This convinced Qui-Gon that Anakin was the Chosen One.
While Grogu may have the potential to be the Chosen One, his choice to not receive Jedi training does little to reinforce the theory that he may be the Chosen One. Despite this, audiences look forward to seeing Grogu return for the third season of The Mandalorian.
He came to recruit the Padawan for another ritual, one that would finally reveal the answers they seek. Begrudgingly, the boy and his friends went with Maul to Dathomir, where Nightsister magick gifted them the knowledge that Obi-Wan Kenobi was alive, and he was on Tatooine. Finally, Maul was close to his revenge.
Despite learning that his Master took a new apprentice, Darth Tyranus, Maul still believed that he was a Sith Lord. Taking his brother as an apprentice, Maul and Opress held that they were the true Sith rather than Sidious and Tyranus.
While this may come as a surprise, the two actually respected one another. This is shown immensely during their final duel on Tattooine in Star Wars Rebels. Maul always wanted to get his complete revenge on Obi-Wan in an honorable way. Maul was an excellent combatant.
