1823. Per Lady Whistledown, Edwina is now married to Mr. Bagwell.
Edwina getting a happily ever after is something that happens in Quinn's novel, though it is not Prince Friedrich she marries because he is a character who appears solely in the Bridgerton series. In the books, Edwina ends up marrying Mr. Bagwell, a scholar and second son in his family.
If you're rooting for Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington to end up together in Bridgerton, we have good news for you! In the fourth Bridgerton book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, Colin and Penelope's love story finally comes to the forefront and paves the way for the couple's happy ending.
Thankfully, Edwina (played by Charithra Chandran) forgave Kate and Anthony, but giving her more depth also meant not having her attend a wedding between the man Edwina was previously engaged to and her sister.
Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) are of Indian heritage in the series, but in the book, they are described as pale and blonde. (The series is diverse, something that isn't true of the book.)
Kate's Family—And Motives—Are Different
Kate has also secretly been in cahoots with Edwina's grandparents, who disowned Mary (Shelley Conn) after she chose to marry Kate's father, to provide Edwina with a dowry if she lands an English nobleman.
Kate's last name was changed for Shondaland's series for Netflix from Sheffield to Sharma after the show's writers opted to give Kate an Indian background.
Eloise Bridgerton and Sir Phillip Cane
The printer's assistant with a passion for feminism seems like an ideal mate for Eloise, but it's actually Sir Phillip Crane — the elder brother of Marina Thompson's true love, Sir George — who wins her heart in the books.
She wants more out of life than to be married—but after her best friend Penelope finds love, she starts to doubt her own choice to stay single. Enter Sir Phillip Crane, a moody widower and single father whose unexpected proposal changes her life overnight. Spoiler: they end up living happily ever after.
The heightened emotions get to both of them, and they wind up making out in the carriage. Colin promptly proposes to Penelope and, after some miscommunications with her mother, they're engaged.
History. Lord and Lady Cowper and Cressida were invited to a formal dinner at the Featherington estate when Jack began to express interest in marrying Cressida. Lady Cowper was thrilled when it became clear that he intended to make Cressida his wife.
It is revealed in Romancing Mister Bridgerton that Penelope is in fact Lady Whistledown, a mysterious writer who reports on gossip and influences societal opinions. Colin and Penelope have four children together: Agatha, Thomas, Jane, and George.
Over time Eloise spends more one-on-one time with Phillip and his twins and gets to know the family. Her elder brother eventually catches them getting cosy and demands the pair wed to protect her honour.
At the dinner, Jack charmed the family with talk of his mines in America. He also told them he was ready to settle down and marry, making his intentions clear. At the end of the dinner, Jack invited Cressida to promenade later in the week and she accepted.
Kate and Anthony end up together
Edwina asks her sister to be true to her feelings, and Kate ends up dancing with Anthony at the ball. Despite the whispers of those around them, the Queen voices her approval of the pair, thanks to their electric chemistry.
At the end of season 2, Eloise realized Penelope is Lady Whistledown, the mysterious antagonist who had caused the Bridgertons to suffer multiple times because of her gossip. The revelation caused Eloise to split ties with Penelope and the end of season 2 saw them both visibly upset from losing their closest friend.
Penelope Bridgerton
Eloise named her daughter Penelope, after her friend.
In the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn, Simon and Daphne go onto have five children of their own.
In the book series, Eloise (Claudia Jessie) is actually straight, but that's not stopping fans from predicting a new twist when it comes to her love life.
Eloise does not become pregnant in Quinn's second book, but she does become a stepmum in the fifth book titled To Sir Phillip, With Love, where she is considered a “spinster” because she is unmarried at the age of 28.
In the books, Benedict ends up with a woman, Sophie Beckett.
In short, yes. Eloise does in fact find love – but it is in a very unconventional way, fitting Eloise's character – and her rebellious streak – perfectly. But it doesn't happen until the fifth book, To Sir Phillip, With Love, so we are unlikely to see the storyline play out in the Netflix series anytime soon.
And lastly, when declaring his love for Kate in the Bridgerton finale, Anthony used her traditional Indian name and called her Kathani.
Do Kate Sharma and Anthony Bridgerton end up together? Yes, our enemies-to-lovers pair do end up married by the final episode, after Kate wakes up after accident. Anthony feels obligated to propose to her; however, Kate declines, saying she's returning to India and will not marry someone who doesn't love her.
Kate isn't Mary's daughter
So Kate and Edwina Sharma share the same dad but have different mums. Kate's mum died when she was young and her dad remarried to Mary quickly after. During season two, Mary is grieving the loss of her husband which has left them with a financial strain.
