Presley's primary suite on the second floor of Graceland was his most private refuge, where only his closest confidants were allowed. It was there, in his bathroom, that Presley's body was found on Aug. 16, 1977.
Presley was found unresponsive at Graceland, his Memphis mansion, around 2:30 p.m., The New York Times reported. His then-fiancee Ginger Alden found Presley lying unconscious on the floor of the master suite bathroom, according to PBS. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m.
After Presley's death, his uncle Vester explained to the press that the family was “not interested in her” because “she took advantage of Elvis' name”. He even went as far as to say: “Ginger Alden is dead now as far as the family is concerned. We don't even recognise her as a human being.”
Presley fell in love with Ginger Alden when the actress was 21 and he was in his early 40s. She too was a former beauty queen. They got engaged and lived together in Graceland.
The problem is, Elvis is buried between his grandmother, Minnie Mae, and his father, Vernon Presley. Elvis' mother, Gladys Presley, Lisa Marie and her son, Benjamin, who died in 2020, are also buried at the Meditation Garden.
The documents outline how the estate will be split between Lisa Marie's family members and specify that Priscilla will be buried at Graceland as near as possible to Elvis, her ex-husband.
